I own a fabrication company and I can attest to this. Luckily, I am smart enough to know not to place all of my eggs into the oil field basket. Still hurts. Financially and personally. I had to let a few guys go.

Chesapeake hasn't fared well since going all-in in the Haynesville

People at the Houston office of Cameron are being told to get ready.

Yeah they were struggling before the downturn, now they are spiraling.

I wonder if the OKC Thunder will stick around. They are probably supported almost entirely by oil companies.

The Desoto side of the shale is dead, zero activity. The Webster side is booming, its weird.

Yeah but there are active wells in Webster as well. I have a Camp on Bistineau (Plum Orchard) and there are tanker trucks all over the road.

They're not doing well at all and they're ripe for a buy out. In one of our meetings they were talking about them being bought out fwiw

I have heard about some post layoff suicides after oilfied layoffs. It's pretty grim.

It sounds like BP sold all of the assets it needed to sell to pay off spill liabilities. When the execs talk they all say there are no plans to sell anything else....right now

It happens.

I've seen it happen with tech layoffs.

Yeah these people devote their lives and energy to a career, then they get laid off and feel like a failure. Would be rough
