Which oil companies have had the worst layoffs?

Last week, Devon let go 700 people in its OKC headquarters alone. What other producers are dropping people like that?

Not a "producer", but schlumberger has cut like 40k worldwide.

Not sure of the number of people that work there but chevron is closing Lafayette office and most probably their training faculty not long after

I was out shooting the other day on family land and a checker came through making his rounds in a decked out, brand new GMC truck that had had the paper temp plate still on it. He stopped to wave and make sure we saw him and held off for a minute. Looked like he was in his early 30's.

I said to my buddy "Well, that guy has a big ol' basket of don't give a f."

Wow, that's insane. That's like 40% of the company.

in production, the closer you are to the well head, the better (provided the company doesn't go under).

OKLAHOMA CITY — Oklahoma City-based Devon Energy has announced plans to lay off about 1,000 employees — including about 700 in Oklahoma City.

Devon Energy just released its core earnings for the fourth quarter of 2015.

The report say the company received core earnings of $319 million for the fourth quarter, but it also suffered a net loss of $4.5 billion during that same time period because of non-cash, asset-impairment charges.

I have heard about some post layoff suicides after oilfied layoffs. It's pretty grim.

They are gonna lay off about 300 or so people in the Covington office as well.

It sounds like March and April will be very very difficult time with thousands being laid off at the majors.
