The surgeon did the cutting, but he wasn't alone in that operating room. There wasn't a surgical nurse, 2nd MD, anesthetist or janitor to make sure it was the correct limb?

This is just inexcusable. Everyone involved should be working the line at Chipotle now.

This happened in Ohio, and I don't know the law there. But if it happened in Louisiana, there is a cap of $500,000 plus future related medical expenses. That's it, that's all she would get. Actually she wouldn't get that, because her attorney will get a percentage of it.

I had a bad accident once and had a severe leg injury with bone exposed in my leg. It took several surgeries to save the leg and before every one, someone came in with a sharpy and wrote, "wrong" on the other leg.
