OG Covid killed a bunch people who were already near the end of their life bc of age or extremely poor health. Each subsequent version has clearly become less serious like the actual experts said it would become. It’s clearly at the point now where the current Covid versions are just minor sicknesses that cure themselves in a few days.
Saying current Covid is anything like the original is just plain ignorant and an attempt to fear monger.

when it comes to COVID (the topic at hand) which non-Democrat do you believe to be “playing peoples emotions” ?

You won’t even know you have them unless you get tested daily!

Future variants COVID will have to be less virulent and more transmissible. To become the next dominant strain, the variant must not kill the host or make the host bedridden because that will decrease the transmission.
This is absolutely not true. Firstly, COVID, while having a high CFR especially in age-specific cohorts, is relatively mild in younger populations. Which means that it already possesses the characteristics you describe that would potentially decrease transmission. Secondly, RNA viruses do not have unlimited genomic diversity. They exist as quasispecies in hosts with the genomic potential to respond sensitively to changing environments. Immunogenic response is specific, and without standardization of the antibody response over a population, selection pressures might begin to favor the conditions which could see increased virulence in specific population subsets. Because of this, what you will see is called cyclical virulence, which can be mitigated by better treatment strategies, which also can depress CFR. But the timeline of that cyclical virulence is hard to determine.

They are getting an early jump on the Presidential Election Season Fear-Mongering.

Secondly, RNA viruses…
Blah, blah, blah…
What has the past 3 years of the pandemic shown us? Multiple variants, more transmissible variants, variants progressively becoming less and less virulent, milder and milder repeated re-infections… sounds more and more like a common cold…
Don’t see a ‘cyclical’ evolution, just one direction mutation toward more transmissibility and less virulence like all respiratory viruses that cause the common cold.

Go get that fifth booster though.

Uh, no. The common cold, to my knowledge, even though it's been around as long as humankind, has never been directly attributed to even one human death. Conversely, COVID has killed MILLIONS, in just 3 1/2 years.

And I bet you aren’t even mad at Fauci for funding its creation.

These Marxist leading the Federal Government are looking for any reason to exert more control over the population as we approach the '24 elections. They will use this among other yet to be seen fabricated "emergencies". The restrictions will be for "public health" concerns, we will be told.

quote:You have no idea what you are talking about. People die from the common cold all the time in significant numbers — 500.000 to 650,000 per year. Diarrhea is one of the leading causes of death every year, killing more than a million annually. It’s the second or third leading cause of death for children globally.

Someday, someone is going to go back through the COVID mortality numbers and separate the deaths from COVID from the deaths with COVID, and we’ll see that COVID was, while very severe among the old and infirm, not much worse than a really bad flu season for everyone else.
