It still doesn't really make sense how that revelation just came about.

Did I hear that the malaysian military revealed the U turn way after all the search teams were looking in the wrong body of water?

ETA: I need a timeline

That seems to be what the reports are. But, why the hell would they sit on that info for four days?

It makes no sense at all.

Y.A., I'm late to this party and you have a reputation as a no nonsense kinda do poster. Is it possible this thing flew into foreignness airspace and was taken down by a hostile gov't?

Compared to even a small section of ocean, the 777 by comparison is very small.
Except that no one expects the plane to be in one piece, provided it did indeed crash. And four days of ocean currents can spread debris over a very wide area. Not to mention, the entire search area - including all recent additions to the search area - is roughly the size of Montana. A VERY large area to be sure - but part of that area is one of the busiest bodies of water in the world, and there are 40+ ships and 40+ planes from 10 countries looking exhaustively over that area for any sign of debris. In my mind, if the plane crashed anywhere in the current search area, they should've found something over the course of four days.

All of which leads me to suspect that the plane is not where they think it is. Whether on land somewhere or in the middle of the Indian Ocean, it's hard to believe the plane is actually within the current search area.

If you force a plane to divert. are you responsible for the added fuel costs personally?

I was wondering that after reading the story of the guy who got in a drunk argument with his wife forcing the plane to land in the Caymans.

Assuming they lost electronics, trying to fly by visual only at night with no moon isn't the ideal situation.
True. But if you hit ocean, you can be sure you've gone too far.

Not absurd enough to be credible.

From people I know in the Semiconductor industry, Freescale employees in Malaysia wouldn't have the knowledge or the clearance for this type of technology.

correct.
#mh370 took off at 12:30am to China

CHINA called them asking "Where's the JET?" 14 hrs passed b4 search began.

At that point, Malaysia said, "go look in gulf of Thailand." Malaysia had the world looking in the wrong area for 90+ hours before Malaysian MILITARY told CHINA low flying #MH370 was near Pulau Perak.

here is a pic of Pulau Perak

Sounds like a big conspiracy theory, but at this point. . . anything is possible.

I'm posting from my phone and I screwed up my edit. I was quoting a post from the comments section of a news link given a few pages back.
