Can we get a summary of the last 24 hours, what has been happening (in this thread and of the jet/search)?

something like a Payne Stewart/Bo Rein deal is also possible - we have nothing to refute it.
Except the plane went off radar. Stewart's did not.

Damn. 26 pages since I left for work this morning. I figured that meant the plane had been found. . .

Why would SONAR not find something if it were underwater...

The plane is probably at the bottom of the ocean or pieces are floating on the surface. No way in hell sonar has the ranges to detect scattered pieces of an aircraft. If you had any knowledge of oceanography you would understand this.

The two Iranian Boys

quote:

CNN PRODUCER NOTE Mohammad Mallaeibeasir told CNN that he took this photo with Pouri Nourmohammadi, 18, and Delavar Seyed Mohammad Reza, 29, in Kuala Lumpur on Friday before he drove them to the airport to catch Malaysia Airlines Flight 370. He and his roommate are the other men in the photo. CNN has blurred their faces to protect their identities.

Nourmohammadi and Reza entered Malaysia using valid Iranian passports, Interpol Secretary General Ronald Noble said at a news conference. But they used stolen Austrian and Italian passports to board the now-missing Malaysian plane, he said. Officials said it's unlikely that they were part of a terrorist group.

Mallaei, a student in Kuala Lumpur, said he went to high school with Nourmohammadi, who told him he was headed to Germany, where his mother lived. The iReporter said it was the first time he met Reza. Mallaei and his roommate had dinner with the two passengers Friday before dropping them at the airport.

Mallaei said the passengers printed out the email with their tickets before having dinner. He noticed that the ticket wasn’t in Nourmohammadi’s name, and his friend told him he had another passport. He says he dropped them off at the airport and called a few minutes later to make sure they checked in okay. He wasn’t able to reach Nourmohammadi, but Reza answered the phone and thanked him for dinner and the ride.

Where can we see the path of the flight up to the point where ATC lost radar contact? Drawing a line from that point to the Island the Malaysian AF guy said they had reports of sightings could point to where it may have been going.

I've stated in the Poli Talk theories thread that there really wasn't a plane to begin with and this is all just an elaborate lead in to the 2nd season of True Detective.

Guys arguing over whether or not evidence of a crash has been found, and what evidence really encompasses. No kidding.

Taiwan warns China of possible terror attack

Warning of ‘possible terrorist attack on China’ received by Taiwan days before Malaysia Airlines jet vanished
China Airlines says it learened about attacks on capital's airport and metro system.

quote:

National Security Bureau chief Tsai De-sheng told a legislative committee that the agency had passed on a warning of planned attacks on Beijing airport and the city's subway system to mainland authorities after receiving it on March 4.

Tsai did not specify how the warning, which came three days after a knife attack at Kunming railway station left 29 civilians dead, had been relayed to the bureau.

However, security chiefs were believed to have received the alert from Taiwan-based China Airlines, following a phone call to the airline earlier in the day from a man who said he wanted to warn of possible terrorist activity.

Claiming to work for an anti-terrorism organisation in France, the caller spoke in French at first but switched to Putonghua with a Cantonese accent when the airline's switchboard operator could not understand him.

People on SECr going batshite: aliens, EMP, shot down by Indonesia, everyone passed out with the plane still flying, Twilight Zone kind of time warping thingy, True Detective stuff, it never took off to begin with and either no evidence or plenty of evidence to support any of the ideas liste above.

I dunno.

Yep, that could very well be key to the mystery.

6 years tracking submarines, hard enough to find those, definitely not gonna find parts of an aircraft with no mass to be reflected or sound to be passively detected.
