There was debris everywhere. I think it would be easy to do enough damage to make it crash and let the ground do the rest.

quote:

Local officials stated that crash debris was spread over a wide area. According to the Pittsburg Post-Gazette, state police Major Lyle Szupinka "confirmed that debris from the plane had turned up in relatively far-flung sites, including the residential area of Indian Lake." 1 The residential areas of Indian Lake range from three to six miles from the crash site. As noted on the pages describing Flight 93 and its crash site, there were a number of debris fields. Small debris descended over Indian Lake and New Baltimore, about three and eight miles from the primary crash site, and an engine core was separated from the main impact crater by about 2000 feet.

Some officials have suggested that wind scattered the debris once on the ground, but wind certainly couldn't have blown a one-ton engine a half-mile, nor could the 9-mile-per-hour wind have blown debris for eight miles.

Debris fields from Flight 93 were scattered across eight miles.
An article in Popular Mechanics attempts to explain the far-flung debris by suggesting that the engine "tumbl[ed] across the ground" and that the light debris was "blasted skyward by the heat of the explosion from the crash." Such scenarios are impossible given the nature of the crash, wherein the plane dove into the soft ground from a nearly vertical trajectory. This is evident in the deep impact crater whose shape mimics the cross-section of the aircraft, and by the agreement among eyewitness that the plane dropped from the sky in a vertical fashion.

I don't want to derail this thread though so I guess we should get off of the 9/11 chatter.

Wouldn't there have been debris everywhere had it been shot down?

What if the so called turnaround is disinformation, and the plane proceeded toward Beijing, the debris could be in some remote spot over China or Vietnam or even in the Gulf of Tonkin.

I saw a show on it that talked about the crater and how small the pieces were...also the biggest body parts found were feet.

If it was shot down would there even be a crater?

Depends on the type of hit. With my limited knowledge, I would detonate the missile right next to the plane to tear it up. If it nose dived then it wouldn't skip on the ground as much either.

Maybe more effort into locating the airliner than bragging about being part of the rescue effort.

I know nothing about crash impacts. I don't think the public would have cared if it was shot down so I don't know why you would cover it up.

Cover it up and not find out if the reaction is negative.

Probe into mystery call to captain of doomed jet: Unknown woman used a fake ID when buying phone to bypass security checks

Call was made to Captain Shah just hours before he took off in MH370

Pay-as-you-go phone which made the call was bought with fake ID

Fake ID was used to get around security measures put in place after 9/11

Increases fears Captain Shah may have links to terrorism

Investigators will soon question the captain's estranged wife in detail

In a separate development, The Mail on Sunday has learned that investigators are now poised to question Captain Shah’s estranged wife in detail.

They have waited two weeks out of respect, but will now begin formally interviewing Faizah Khan following pressure from FBI agents assisting the inquiry.

Although the couple – who have three children – were separated, they had been living under the same roof. A source said: ‘Faizah has been spoken to gently by officers but she has not been questioned in detail to establish her husband’s behaviour and state of mind in the days leading to the incident.
continues.

‘This is partly for cultural reasons. It is not considered appropriate in Malaysia to subject people in situations of terrible bereavement to the stress of intensive questioning.’

Pay-as-you-go phone which made the call was bought with fake ID

So I could see a mistress using a pay as you go phone to contact her boyfriend but the fake ID seems a tad extreme. Hmmmm.

Aaaaand apparently to complicate matters in the primary search area even more a Tropical Cyclone is forecast to move in to the general area. They have been talking about rough seas making finding anything difficult already. Just wow.

Yeah, they found seaweed.

Seaweed is pictured floating in the southern Indian Ocean seen from a RNZAF P-3K2 Orion aircraft searching for #MH370

But no I haven't seen anything besides more debris sightings by assets on site and satellites. Some of the leaders are saying the amount of debris is a good sign. Oh and one wooden pallet was reported confirmed.

Jim Cantore is heading to Cocos Island as we speak.

The pay-as-you-go phone call can be from a side squeeze for the estranged Captain.

As was said here earlier, usually the simplest solution is the true solution. MH370 is prolly in many pieces (like its passengers) and wet.
