If you have 20 tons of gold, you have the means to get your own plane. That is about 8 Billion dollars worth of gold.

On another note, some of these people commenting on the situation in the media need to shut the hell up. Not sure which news channel I was watching but a spokesperson from the Pentagon said that all indications were that the passengers just sat back and did not rebel against the hijackers. How does anyone know?

If there was really that much gold on MH370 that would explain some motive.

...perhaps a motive to fake a crash.

Pre-programmed? Hopefully they'll explain...

I don't believe he would have been taking such evasive maneuvers.

I am not sure how evasive they were considering how inept the Malaysian military has been. He may have thought about crashing the plane in Malaysia and couldn't do it...then just directed the plane in a direction that he knew he couldn't save himself. Idk I am just trying to make sense of what could be a mad man.

If there was no hijacking or plan to land plane for terrorists reasons all of his actions could be just impulses.

Not sure that plane could haul that much gold. That would be super heavy.

noone does know anything. The networks are just having to fill 24 hours a day of coverage of this missing plane, but there isn't really any news to report.

And now it's dark in that part of the world, so don't expect anything revealing today, either.

It can. But whose gold? And was it allegedly supposed to be going to Beijing?

I did read on a CNN article that the sharp turns that the craft made were preprogrammed into the guidance system, which points the finger even more at the cockpit crew.

Link? I have not seen anything stating the plane made preprogrammed turns.

yea if it is indeed the pilot(s) they are probably pretty well versed in how some of these countries and their militaries operate in regards to their radar and surveillance and what not.

i just feel a breakthrough coming. may be soon or in a few days but even the best criminals always frick up somehow. i feel like some kind of lead will pop up somehow.

also feel like maybe one of the ground crew could be in on it. surprised it took them a week to bring them into the mix, then again im not.

Adding to the intrigue, ABC News reported that the dramatic left turn was preprogrammed into the plane's navigation computer. It's a task that would have required extensive piloting experience.

Two senior law enforcement officials also told ABC that new information revealed the plane performed "tactical evasion maneuvers" after it disappeared from radar. CNN was unable to confirm these reports.

They sure do appear to know a lot in a short period of time about something they can't even seem to find.

If it was a pilot suicide, why wouldn't he just ram the damn thing into the ground. I'm sorry, but shutting everything off, flying on for 7 hours points to something else. I think this plane is one piece somewhere.

That's what I was thinking. I don't know jack shite about the weight limits of a planes cargo hold, but that sounds like an obscene amount of gold to be on a commercial airliner. I'm calling bullshite on that one.

Makes me suspect a whole pile. If it allegedly was U.S. gold, wouldn't the U.S. have found a trusted pilot and tracked it a bit better?

The entire investigation has been a joke.

Why wouldn't Vietnam or Malaysia immediately question the pilots why the transponder was turned off?

The delay in checking out the pilots...total joke.

I think the US has a real good idea of where the plane is but is allowing Malaysia to appear to be in control of the investigation.

Why is avoiding many different countries radar systems more plausible than a pilot debating suicide?

The gold angle is pure bullshite.

This hijacking would have taken months of prep and had to of been at the perfect time of night. So if it was a gold heist, the hijackers just sat back and waited for the exact time when a gold shipment would be on board?

1) Would have been pure coincidence that the pilot(s) involved would have been on that flight
2) How would they know in advance what flight the gold would be on
3) If others were involved, they would have needed notice to buy tickets on flight, get to that airport, etc...
