Depends on how much fuel it had. If the pilots were in on it what's to say someone on the ground crew wasn't as well and filled the plane to full. Then the pilots fly it to where ever. Most likely a country sympathetic to whatever they're up to like a Somalia or a Yemen.
But who the hell knows? Until they find it or the terrorists detonate the nuclear device onboard in our upper atmosphere and send us back to the stone age, we'll probably never know what happened.

There's several interesting people on that plane. I want to find out more about the Australian man who gave his watch/wedding ring to his toddler sons before this flight.

How well does satellite imagery work at night?

Meh, at this point I'm going with the US knows ALOT more than they are saying. Idk what they know, but they know something.

It really is like the beginning of Lost isn't it? All they need is a fat lottery winner who keeps everyone from killing each other on the island and they've got it made.

where could you fly a 777 undetected or uncloaked?
There are little islands all over the place down there. Look around on Google Earth. They just need one with an old runway. Of course, that opens up all the other questions about length, ability to land in the dark, where to store and refuel it, etc. Like someone said before, it would take a lot of resources to do that. Possible? Of course. Possible without Chinese or US intelligence finding out? Not sure about that. I would assume satellites have been pointed to all known island runway locations in the region since Saturday.

Infrared?
At least that's how the weather satellites see clouds.

this has *ALWAYS* confused me with regards to 911 and all the passengers calling from that plane that crashed in pennsylvania.
how the hell did so many people on that flight have working cell phones? i've never had a signal with any cell phone when i'm 30,000 ft in the air.
this was back in the day of onboard phones in the back of head rests.

The NSA will jump in with that data and thus provide a rationale for their continued enthrallment of the masses.

You are about 50 pages behind. I believe they searched the area already and came up empty.

Bill Nye says that they need to search it again...only better...using underwater pinger detectors looking for the black box.

I thought for sure they would find pieces of the plane today, now I am baffled maybe this thing really did land!

Well seeing as most black boxes have a pig range of roughly 17,000 feet. Thats not really realistic.
Why the frick is Bill Nye commenting on this shite? He's a TV scientist.
