I thought I was gullible... Just walked into LA express in livonia and they are talking about how "they" are saying they think it went into the Bermuda triangle.. Saw that article on Facebook and knew it was fake.. I couldn't bring myself to tell them though..

I think what's really weird is that each business class seat on the 777-200ER is equipped with a satellite phone as per the Malaysian Airlines website. Unless the hijacker/pilots somehow disconnected those phones, why did nobody make a single phone call?

The Business Class seat design embodies the spirit of exclusivity and is uncompromising in meeting the needs and comfort of passengers. Each seat has its own privacy shell which transforms into a more personal space for work, play or relaxation.
The seat is longer, wider and ergonomically designed to accommodate passengers of varying sizes. The seating positions are electrically adjustable with preset buttons for convenience.
Other features and facilities include a light preset 10 minutes massage, an in-seat power outlet for PC and other personal electronic devices, a 10.4-inch touch screen TV, satellite telephone and LED reading light.

So why the hell wasnt the airport trying to contact the plane when it was turned off ??
That's why I think it's the pilots involved....they had just said goodnite to one tower and were in the process of being handed off to the Chinese. It's likw as soon as this guy says goodnite, the plan began to happen and Malaysia no longer cared and China hadn't made contact yet, so no one misses the transponder pings

I believe it was right at the same time as they switched from Malaysian to Vietnamese airspace. Their last recorded words were something like "good night" to the ATC in Malaysia, as they were switching over to Vietnam. This is part of the reason it was thought to be intentional.

Ahhhh yeah so?? You do understand how a cell phone works right?

how would they post about their experience while in the airport??
plenty of people get on FB and "check in" at the airport or something of that nature...there are other ways of posting stuff when traveling....with a chance of 239 people having social media and might be posting "heading out of town on business" ect....
Not saying they would have known what was about to happen...just saying I wonder if there is any record of anyone that was going to be on the flight or was on the flight that had posted about the flight or getting on it...ect.

Let's have a 20-page discussion over cell phones working at 300mph. We can also re-hash what constitutes "evidence" of said cell phones working at 300mph.

Not really... Again, if the pilots were involved it isn't tough at all.
Pilots begin the maneuver to new path and nobody on board suspects anything. Lots of the plane is asleep, pilot or whomever else on board is involved starts at the front and quietly goes to each person "Give me your cell phone or Ill crash the plane and rips the sat phone out. You figure there are only 20 or so 1st class seats. Would take all of 2 min to get through them.
Now the thing that doesn't make sense is what happened with the other 10-15 crew members.

Not on 9/11 and that's what my original comment was referring to. I also said that this should be for another thread because we're trying to solve this missing plane first

Yeah they would have had to take them out quietly first, which seems like it would be difficult to accomplish without ONE of the crew members figuring it out in time to make some sort of distress call to the airline.... Do the pilots have the ability to manually depressurize the cabin?

I do believe the pilot is involved. However, it is very common to say goodnight when transferring to another air traffic controller. Also, it wS being handed off to the Vietnam Air Traffic.
If this was the US, the pilot, copilot and traffic controllers would all have a ripped a-hole from the probing we would do. Frustrating this hasn't happened (pilots house is what I mean)

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say if the plane lost all communications with the Air Traffic Control, Boeing, Rolls Royce, and Military Radio...a satellite phone isn't going to work.

Heck, my phone sometimes craps out while I'm walking through Kroger... and you expect me to believe that they work at 300mph?

True, but what are thinking you will find? I doubt anyone had any reason to suspect anything. And I doubt anyone involved is gonna tweet.... "Bout to board the plane, got my new Jordan Shoe Bombers on... Wish me luck"
