John Travolta probably....Holy shite I figured out who did it
I always knew he was a pilot, but I had never seen his house with the 707 parked in the driveway. That's hilarious.

Pilot could very well be in on it.
I honestly feel if this plane landed at some out of the way runway that pilot participation is required.
The only other way is if the hijacker himself is a fully trained pilot and that would be nuts to pull off

I think the landing on a runway theory requires a pilot to be in on the plot and fully cooperative
one of them at least

If a hijacking occurred without any warning and the transponder got turned off, that would be an amazingly successful hijacking of a plane.
yep unless the co pilot or pilot was in on it

But I feel if this plane got to the runway a pilot was in on it.
This has to be the only real answer at this point. One or both of the pilots had to be in on it with some others. He could cut off the communications and transponders and try to fly it low under the radar. This would explain the Malaysian military picking it up intermittently headed west.
From there the guy could have reached his destination or screwed up the low flying and crashed into the Indian Ocean.

Of course.
At least its interesting to discuss all kinds of theories.

Nope. That's why it's so crazy.

I think it is very strange a pilot would build a simulator at his house. You would think it would be extremely expensive and that pilots would have access simulators at the company they work for. It would make sense if he was training terrorists how to fly the planes though.

Or maybe he was teaching himself to fly the 777 in very unusual circumstances - like NAP of the earth to avoid radar.

I don't think this is very expensive and probably fairly common. The specific controllers might cost a bit, but other than that it's just the simulator 'game' and a few monitors.

I think some info is being held back. Perhaps they know something and are trying not to tip their hand.
In this day and age a plane couldn't fly for thousands of miles and no one notice. That's unbelievable

I think both pilots were in on it. The main pilot had an INSANE home flight simulator setup. The copilot we know was young and brash and could have been talked into this sort of scheme. So the head pilot needn't have killed him. What if the pilot honed his skills for this particular trip with a custom sim? Whatever runway he had to land on, at night, in the giant 777 would have been really tough (which is why I don't think someone without a lot of skill eg 911 style hijacker could have carried it off), but had he run it hundreds of times in his elaborate sim, well... maybe it would be doable. This would explain why they only saw blips of the plane on the radar. He, amazingly, thanks to his sim practice, was able to hug the terrain and mostly avoid radar. His destination: some small airport that closes at night (plenty of these over there - two with adequate runway length in his flight path over the peninsula alone actually) where a shell company had leased a hangar.

we really dont know much about it, truly. on the surface its every bit as strange as you say though....
i know theyve been back and forth on whether theyve searched the pilots houses. youd think something like that might hold interesting answers on its hard drive?

the only thing that gives me pause is there are a whole lot of things that could happen in that region that i feel like i would similar say that phrase to simply projecting our normal standards where they dont belong. how many times this investigation alone have you thought "how in the hell does that even happen?" on basic things
