If the kids aren't staying home, what exactly is the point of closing the schools in the first place?
It’s the reason none of this makes sense. It’s just action to take action

I believe the actual idea is to eliminate necessary large groupings of people, but I don't have my head in the sand like you seem to.

I'd hate if they close schools since we can't work from

All speculation at this point. No decision has been made on any school closure.

I just think the kids off school will now go to playgrounds, or movie theaters, or arcades, or parties etc etc and still be around roughly the same amount of people
And if that’s so, what’s helping?

You must have me confused with someone that is advocating for closing schools.

Poor meemaw gonna be forced to watch all the little kids cuz mommy and daddy won’t pay a baby sitter.
Where are all these paid "baby sitters" going to come from if every schoolage kid in the state has to stay home?
I was thinking older school kids, but isn't the thought that they will be engaged in "remote schooling" during this timeframe?

Well, we already know at least two NBA players have tested positive, so cancelling games they were involved did in fact do something.
Your choice to ignore reality doesn't change that,
