If I remember correctly, the Coast has in the past declined the event. Either I’m misremembering, or they stupidly allowed the event back for some reason.

The coast really can’t decline this event even if they wanted to. You can’t stop people from coming into town and using public places like the beach. They could publicly ask them not to come but I think that would just cause more people to come out of spite and cause bigger disturbances.

I live on the coast and from what I’ve seen the spring breakers generally hang out on the beach, sidewalks of Hwy 90, ride their cars up and down Hwy 90, and the Edgewater Mall. Local bars host most of the “events” during the weekend.

I guess a good start would be the Coast Coliseum not renting to them for the big Saturday night concert, and coastal tourism council not promoting this event on their website or Facebook page.

A few years ago several stores in the mall either closed at 2PM or were closed for renovations. Those stores were quickly called racist. But at least they didn’t have their dressing room shite in like Belk did that year.

Well the mayor can come out and say no more we done hosting spring break. Take it to another city but not here. Jack up the hotel prices or do something

The shithole Best Western across from the Beau Rivage was $400 a night this weekend. They will just rent the room and sleep 8 to a room.

According a WLOX reporter who was near the scene, 10 shots rang out from multiple spots nearby and people scrambled for safety. A crowd of police and EMS officials have since swarmed the scene.

Biloxi Police Chief John Miller gives us a live update on the Spring Break shooting investigation, and the related traffic issues.

In a video circulating on social media, an officer with Biloxi PD can be seen receiving assistance for what appears to be a gunshot wound in his right arm. A press release sent out by the department has since confirmed the incident, saying he was struck while searching for the assailant.

So will the people on the beach voice any appreciation to the BPD and this officer that was wounded and risked his life to stop the shooting and save their lives?

Brings back memories.

I ended up at BSB in Biloxi by accident once. Wondered why the frick every room was $400 a night until we get down there… at which point we drive east and find a room in Gautier.

Tell that to the FL panhandle beaches.

These same fools ran wild in Panama City Beach a year or two back and from what I’ve read the local sheriffs have been issuing warrants and arranging extradition for rioters living in Montgomery, Birmingham and beyond ever since.

You simply have to show the people involved that any transgressions will be met with force, immediate arrest, prosecution and prison time and they will go away.

So now before major events the police sit on the highways leading to the beach and arrest any cars with warrants, pull people for speeding leading to searches and generally make life hard for anyone who isn’t looking to enjoy themselves in a family friendly way.

I believe the sheriffs even got the city councils to agree to force renters out at the request of the sheriff so anyone deemed to be disturbing the peace is gone asap. In addition there is a multi county task force agreement that can be invoked by the local governments where they can flex in police from all over to handle any riots.

MS just needs to talk to FL about how these things should be dealt with.
