Is anyone arguing that she didn't?

I'm guessing the stereotypical psychopath southern sheriff is a real thing and you guys like it that way.
If it saves one (innocent) life.

I mean from the full video it looked clear that his goal was to get inside the car and drive away. However, that comes with hindsight. In the heat of the moment, I agree it can definitely be hard to tell for the cops to try and tell the difference.
Thank you for the common sense

Unreal.
Really?

Did you hear the cop at the end? She couldn't believe she shot him. She knew she fricked up.
And she should
Be charged/disciplined/dealt with accordingly. In the same vein, there should be no riots, not looting, nothing. This was a frick up. The officer will pay

Yeah, complete idiot, but still not a death sentence.
Yep, that's what he got.
deserve? Not sure. Probably not but he's already fricked up the case from the start. You fail to assign the deceased any responsibility whatsoever.
His family will get a lot of money, people will be pissed when the cop isn't booked for murder and they'll burn their own neighborhoods down again.

As long as that evaluation includes the actions of the perpetrator, I'm good with that. Again, diminishing personal accountability on one side while demanding the highest standard of it on the other is a non-starter, at least for me.
The standards should be higher for the trained person with authority to take a life as compared to nervous citizen or mentally unwell person.
There should be expectations for each but much higher for one.

Now you’re just playing semantics to try and obfuscate actions.
I watched it and there was no wrestling or fighting. The whole interaction was like 60 seconds from the time the cops stepped to his vehicle until the time his car was rolling away. He was out of the officer's grasp in less than 2 seconds, in the car for 4-5 giving them the Heisman while trying to get his car in gear and rolling, then shot dead.
I didn't see a single punch, push, or violent move. I saw a dumbass kid scared as shite trying to run.

If you are in an argument, and rightfully believe the dude has a firearm in the car, and he jumps back in and continues fighting, you'll piss your pants, or run, or both.

You at least used to let facts drive your contrarian bullshite. Now it's mostly politics...
For shame.
For shame.

50% of this death (at least) is on the deceased.

No, I would not fear for my life in the least.
Frankly, I'd be more concerned about the dumb broad backing me up shooting me than the perp.

Absolutely. But those standards need to come with higher training standards too.
