Due to precautions related to the COVID-19 response, Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles Commissioner Karen St. Germain has announced that all OMV locations across the state will be closed effective Friday, March 20, 2020. During the closure, online OMV services will remain available to the public. Citizens may also take advantage of available Public Tag Agent locations.

Will anybody notice the difference?

Closing all locations, yet no reduction in work performed...

One time I went in there around 11 am, got a number, left, came back around 3:15 pm and still had to wait another 15 minutes for my number to be called.

None of those leeches perform any work anyway.

It’s sad how poorly the dmv is run. A bunch of overpaid employees who do absolutely nothing

so they stay open until a cure is found, and NOW they want to close

Are they grandfathering your registration? If not, lawyers going to feast on this too

This is so appropriate. Was on hold with them twice today for 40 and 50 minutes. They said I had a lapse in coverage on a car I leased and turned in 2 years ago but they had the wrong lease termination date. It’s amazing how incompetent that system is.

I'll swing by and get a number now for when they open.

IIRC, there is a long history of people turning in shite on time with regards to cars being sold / junked / etc and the OMV trying to claim you should have had insurance until they keyed it, not until the day you got rid of the car.
They sent out bills to a lot of people over this and got their asses sued off.

Weren’t they already closed for like a month for a cyber attack? How many days have they actually worked this year?

Cyber attack was last calendar year, in November IIRC.

Now, now, don't say that. They stole $98K in cash transactions in 2018. That's doing something isn't it?
Audit shows $98K+ theft
