I have never gained it back. I try to workout every day. It’s a stress relief for me.

bullshite

I am fat right now and it is all lack of willpower because I have been slim (relatively speaking) several times when I wanted to. Its all about wanting to.

eat until about 80% full. That should have you feeling satisfied but not full. Some cues you can watch out for are sighing, getting distracted, and slowing down.

Another strong component of the basics is portion control, obviously.

For men your portion should look like:
2 fists veggies
2 cupped hands of fibrous carbs (beans, root vegetables preferable)
2 thumbs fats (avocado, nuts, oil)
2 palms protein

You should be getting about 7/10 on the hunger scale between meals and limiting snacking.

Of the two, until you aren’t hungry. The real answer is you need to start knowing exactly what you’re eating down to the gram—buy a food scale, track your macros and you’ll be in a much better starting place.

I mean, on an epidemiological level, I agree that obesity isn't caused by lack of willpower, in the strictest sense. And I also agree that shaming people isn't going to fix our epidemic.

But fat acceptance is only going to make it worse. And we need the willpower to change the eating paradigm (including the food pyramid) of the world population (it isn't just the US).

So, yes, an individual can make different health choices and has the free will to do so and shouldn't feel it's OK to make bad ones continuously.

But I'm not sure that gets us very far with a fatass population writ LARGE.

I think trying to figure out how to fix it at an epidemiological level is a very interesting and complex topic. I don't think there's any one specific thing that's causing obesity to explode, I think it's a multifaceted problem. To boil it down, I think we just living in obesogenic environment all of the time an hour silly monkey brains have not evolved to live in such a time. We are hardwired to want to eat a bunch when there's a lot of food, the problem is there's no more scarcity
to balance out the overeating for most people. Combine that with hyperpalatable and calorically dense foods being the majority of our abundance of food and it's really no wonder we're facing an obesity crisis.

It is this simple to lose weight.

All the fat fricks eat too much and blame genetics.

I think we need to focus more on why obesity is so bad for our health long term.

Being 20-40 lbs overweight is one thing. Yeah you are overweight and should want to work on that. But it isn't going to potentially kill you or cause you to have a drastically different quality of life.

Being 200 lbs overweight and being medically considered morbidly obese is another. The extra strain on your body long term will eventually kill you in so many different ways (heart, diabetes, etc).

Yeah, right, and trannies are not mentally ill.

Quick question for these psychologists: will making the fatasses feel better about their fatness actually do anything to help them lose the excess pounds and thus bevome healthier?

Of course not, that would elicit blame on the person.

It’s willpower. It does take more willpower in modern America than in any society in history due to the abundance of cheap food and the abundance of sugar in everything.

I cut sugar from my diet, made no other changes, and lost 19 lbs in 2 months.

But pretending obesity is a disease and not a preventable physical condition opens the way to treatments and studies and medications covered by health insurance.

Exactly!! Chart all the food that you consume in a day including the caloric intake. As a previous poster said, losing weight is not rocket science. You just need a caloric deficit. Calories in, calories out.

I did keto for awhile and hated it. I do find that intermittent fasting works well

Ectomorph body types are the ones who can eat whatever and never gain an ounce. Which sounds like a blessing, but they also have an extremely difficult time putting on muscle. Majority of ectomorphs are "skinny fat".

That’s me and it’s no picnic. I’d have a lot of trouble ever being obese but being skinny fat is too easy. Moderate strength training doesn’t make a big impact. Has to be intense to make a visible difference and intense strength training itself takes major time and willpower.
