Ozempic should be available through all health insurance providers and Medicaid/Medicare for weight loss.
So the federal government transfers our money to big pharma in perpetuity because Americans are too fricking stupid to not eat too much? frick that.

Did you have your mom’s personality as a child? Just curious.

Shame em when they are fat.
Shame em when they lose the weight.
Above all, shame em.

That is already happening.
At least this way, it would eventually save money.

Happens with every other "get skinny quick" scheme.
i "got skinny" slow once 15 years ago, was running a half marathon every 6 months. Kids and life came at me fast. Life is life, you're exactly right that if someone doesn't stick to it, it will come back. But what's to say they or I won't?
I will say this, it was a battle to eat right when i was losing weight previously, always hungry, always counting calories . Now it's easy. No "food noise", shite, i forget to eat sometimes. Just eat less. motivating me more to work out and lift. I love it.

This is my hope.
That people will use the weight loss as motivation to move more and be more active.
Keep it up, man.

It would save the federal government money.
In theory

People don't like talking about their health and what drugs they are taking, news at 11.

Findings This cohort study of more than 1.6 million patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D) who had no prior diagnosis of 13 OACs found that patients with T2D treated with GLP-1RAs vs insulin had a significant risk reduction in 10 of 13 OACs, including esophageal, colorectal, endometrial, gallbladder, kidney, liver, ovarian, and pancreatic cancer as well as meningioma and multiple myeloma. No decrease in cancer risk was associated with GLP-1RAs compared with metformin.

Although the gastrointestinal adverse drug reactions of semaglutide are well known, gastroparesis is unusual. The fact that patients' symptoms significantly improved once the use of Semaglutide was discontinued highlights the need to recognize medication-induced gastroparesis as a possible diagnosis, especially in individuals with risk factors.
why keep lying?

My FIL is a good example of those that benefit from Ozempic.
He's an ole baw that was a welder for many years. Multiple shoulder and knee surgeries and he really can't work out much or get around as well as he used to. Really can't work out much. He gained a fairly significant amount of weight. Grew up country and they don't eat great out there, its all he ever knew. He has tried in recent years to change diets, but the weight hasn't come off. Can't have certain leafy greens because of another condition
Granted, I know him...he could do way better, admittedly. He was up to wearing a triple x, getting close to a quad
Has now had heart surgeries and his doc told him, your time on the earth is down to a few years if you don't do something about it now.
Started Ozempic recently coupled with eating a little better and some walking around, and he has already lost 30 lbs in a pretty short period of time. Its gonna hopefully be a game changer and life saver for him

same
my FIL worked manual labor most of his life, body was failing (knees and back), gained lots of weight,
Ozempic helped him lose 50 lbs and now he is walking 2-3 miles every day
probably just added 10 years to his life

You don’t have to change a damn thing about your life. You just eat what you would normally eat, difference is you stay full longer.
But you have changed. You are eating less.
Caloric restriction is a well known way to lose weight.

my dad has been fricking insufferable...he was obese for years and also is stupid rich so when he dropped 50 lbs out of nowhere for the first time in his life we knew why. He has gone on about giving people his clothes are too big whether they need/want them or even fit... I asked multiple times how he did it... oh walking. Really... you're in your 60's and like magic going on an afternoon walk caused you to drop 50 lbs?
My wife asked him in a super slick way and got...well I mean some of it is a sorta...well this medicine Im on I think is uh part of it...oh and walking..eating better..ya know
ETA: totally get why downvotws are coming.... but this is a small example of how he's an arse. Me and him aren't close because he basically chose to disappear during my childhood and even now spends time or demands my attention when continent for him. He flexes... he flexes his money usually and currently flexing his weightloss.
He showed up to my sons bday party for a very brief amount of time basically to drop off clothes he couldn't wear anymore... that were huge for me. Worth noting after all his weightloss he probably still weighs more than me.
He spent most of his short time making conversation w my family and if they didn't mention his weightloss he would bring it up in 2 seconds or less. We could be talking about HOAs and he wpuld somehow find a way to say...ya know since I lost weight....
Good for him losing weight... but he's turned it into an annoying flex... and for the purpose of this thread refuses to be honest about how he lost it

Tattoos used to be a sign of wealth , as people had to go live in China for months where an artist would work on the design day after day. If a girl had a good tattoo, you definitely wanted to date/court her. $$$$
When the auto needle was perfected , tattoos became extremely cheap. Tattoos then were saw as cheap. $
Same with tan skin. In the days of old , tan skin meant you were a laborer. Now, tan skin means you have the money to vacation at the beach.
I wonder if one day being fat will be something special as everyone will be on some magic pill that keeps everyone at 2% body fat .
