just found it interesting because I was starting a plan to add muscle and I used a calorie counting app to get into an energy excess. During that process I found it very hard to get high enough calories of the foods I eat to gain weight/add muscle.
So I decided to do the math for how many calories are required just to maintain high weight and it was surprising.
Yes, that makes sense. If you're looking at it. What's interesting is I made a comment the other day saying it's not difficult to stay under 2000 calories a day and I got a ton of down votes. It's not difficult, it's just more work. And it's not a one size fits all thing though obviously.
It sounded like the time a poster complained the overweight people at THE GYM were bothersome because they are gross and sweaty type judgement was all.

Because when you socially normalize aberrant or unhealthy behavior, not only do those parties want cultural acceptance and recognition, they demand corporate and governmental policy be changed to protect themselves from the consequences of their behavior. These policies inevitably end up costing me money or freedom. So, yes, I do care that these fatties' elective behavior isn't rewarded, protected, or impact me.

Why do you knuckle draggers worry about the fatties so much? Who cares if Barbra from accounting wants another Twinkie?
Short answer is it affects our insurance premiums

But I can recognize how easy maintaining a healthy weight is for me. Dont need to count calories. Naturally hyper or at least want to be active.
My family is the same. Why would I feel high and mighty about something that takes me way less effort than other people?

It's honestly shocking to me that there aren't even more fatties. Fat food is so easy to access.
Soft drinks
Chips
Processed foods
Fast food
Etc

This is it. My wife needs to lose weight, and she knows she needs to, she wants to, but she won't exercise or eat less, and she always has an excuse why. I kinda wish she would've never stopped smoking.

Someone only eating chicken, eggs, and sweet potatoes is going to be lacking quite a bit of nutrients.
Miltivitamins can only supply so much.

Thanks for saying this. I lost a ton of weight, but it was extremely difficult with how distorted my relationship with food was. One of my saving graces is that all I had to was dial back my diet a bit because how physically active I am. When I get bored I’ll go for a 3-5 mile run just to knock out some cobwebs and get some endorphins. It’s fun for me. There’s no discipline involved there. Some of my family is the opposite. Same upbringing with food distortion but no inclination to get moving. I can’t judge them.

Women are more susceptible to anemia. You need more iron than that. I’m not saying that you can’t clean up diet by eliminating a ton of food, but OP stated matter of factly that that is all someone would need to do.
The truth is it’s not that simple.

I mean we let corporations pump all kind of artificial flavors and chemicals into our food and now we are crying about obesity? The unhealthy and processed food is way cheaper than the healthy stuff as well.

Same here. Running every morning is part of getting dressed. Even if it’s something as simple as 3 miles. It’s the first thing I do out of bed. I feel naked during the day if for some reason it’s missed. Hitting the gym in the afternoons or at lunch is just passing time for the most part and moving some weight around.
When I feel my pants are getting a little snug, I just curve back my diet a bit and it’s easily fixable.

Besides having some sort of a disease I’m not sure how anyone downvoted this.

Why not focus on helping people like this make better choices? This critical and condescending attitude only makes people resentful and unlikely to change.

The issue is you were approaching it from the eating healthy POV. The healthier you eat the more volume you generally have to take in for a target calorie count. My daily intake is in the 3800-3900 calorie per day range, some days I just don't want to eat that much especially the bulk of low calorie veggies and fruit to cover my micros. That is really only because I am trying to eat relatively healthy. For example, I drink about 150 ounces of liquid a day all of it very low or no calorie the majority being water. The same volume of Coke would give me 1750 calories without any more volume. If I ate the same weight of cake, typical pizza or fried crap vs baked chicken breast that would be another huge bump in calories for the same amount of chewing and swallowing.
Large calorie counts are incredibly easy to ingest if you eat like crap, damn near work if you don't.
BTW I really like cake and eat cake but when I eat it I recognize there is a cost in X amount of time at Y level of intensity. Being OCD as I am I have a food cheat bank account I keep funded and my food cheats are always paid for in "cash" never credit.

How is it condescending? You just sound soft.
It is meant to help people. If you just eat the right food you can lose weight and not feel hungry.
You just have to give up the “pleasure of eating”. It’s a dopamine problem.

Right but that’s not what your OP said at all. Honestly, the fat-positive and anti-fat people are really just 2 sides of the same coin.
