However, I do hate that the Civil Rights liberal machine thinks they know what is better for everyone else to believe and that a kid can no longer have the innocence of youth unless you live off the grid somewhere away from all this crap.

You missed the point. At 13 or even younger, they should not even be faced with the issue to have to understand it.
Kids have to deal with adult issues to early in life. There is a big difference between issues that a high school age kid can deal with versus those that a middle school kid is ready to deal with. Since it is everywhere you turn, you can't even protect your kid from seeing it everywhere.
Truth be told, I would like to shelter her from Miley Cyrus just as much as I would Kaitlyn Jenner.
