Like Jerry Seinfeld said, whoever is your friends at 30 are your friends the rest of your life. You are not looking "to hire" new friends. All the positions are filled.
Any truth to this?

I think this depends on how transient/permanent your life is. And, of course, how much of a people person you are to begin with.
I hope I don't get to the point where I'm not interested in making new friends, personally.

Sometimes finding new ones is a good thing though, when the old ones reach their shelf life.

Friends at 40 are very different than friends at 20, even if they are the same people.

True. I always ask people how often they see their bridesmaids/groomsmen from their weddings. You'd be surprised at the number of people that never see them or talk to them regularly.

Not really. I've made plenty of new friend since 30

I try to make new friends all the time 33 here, but I do have an inner circle of friends of about 5 real close ones.....What is the average number of inner circle close friends?

I don't live anywhere near my old friends, what other choices are there? Made a ton of friends since 30.

Doesn't count. Non sexual, platonic friendship here. Who doesn't need sex to strike a random convo with a good looking lady?

I'm talking about close ones. Meeting people who you get along with is not friendship.

I'm not looking to make new friends at my age, but if it happens, fine.
My friends are in groups
High School friends
College friends
Work friends
Artsy friends
Sports friends

What is this "friend" concept you speak of?

Someone who
1. Help you with sh*t(fix computers, lawnmower so)
2. Willing to loan money/vice versa
3. Someone who will busts your balls/vice versa
4. Common interest(hunting, poker, football)
I think 3/4 qualifies as a good friend.

Big difference. I meet new people on daily basis. But they're not going to my wedding.
But you seem more outgoing than I am so I see your point.

FIFY, which describes my outlook.
I have my work padnahs, but when I'm off the clock, my "friends" are my wife and kids.

I'm 28 in April, so close, and I enjoy making new friends. We travel often though.
