100%
A real friend takes time, or it proves you don't really care much because you aren't interested in them that much.
Got a situation lately I've been trying to diffuse over JUST this thing. I'm not looking to add to the roster of people I truly love and care about. We don't live until 1000 years old, man.

Yes. It is pretty tiring.
The best thing is to be friends with people at work.
Problem for me is, I work pretty much solo.

I'm 32. I'd say I made my last true friend at age 26ish. I'm perfectly set for the rest of my life. I've got a handful of very good friends I can pick up the phone and call at any time without it being weird or awkward. That is already too many.

Not for me,but I have never been a person that really tried to make new friends.Just living life,it happens naturally.
I enjoy meeting and talking to new people though..you don't find out until later,if they are going to be a friend. I guess what I am trying to say" when I meet somebody, making a friend isn't really a goal",but learning "who they are"is,I always try to do that.

I honestly couldn't care less about most new people I meet and have zero interest in getting to know them.

Well, I have a couple of businesses, where getting to know people, helps tremendously.
I legitimately like to hear people's stories and understand them. That has helped me more as a salesman, than being a talker.
A lot of times, when I get an item at my shop, I know somebody that will be very interested in it,and If I can, I will call them up and let them know.

I have one close friend. Had a couple others, but they both passed away way too early. That being said, I'm not a big fan of people anyway, so new friends or not...no big deal. Quality over quantity.

Someone who 1. Help you with sh*t(fix computers, lawnmower so) 2. Willing to loan money/vice versa 3. Someone who will busts your balls/vice versa 4. Common interest(hunting, poker, football)
If this is the criteria, then I probably only have about 7-8 friends where I live. Which is fine because that's who I associate with on a regular basis.

I have plenty of friends and now I'm married. I hardly ever get to be alone. Why would I want more friends?

Don't agree with this at all. this sounds like talk from someone who isn't fun to be around

If you are a truly satisfied person, you have my heartfelt congratulations. I am destined to die unsatisfied in most ways.I don't know if that is good or bad.

The older I get, the more people annoy me.

You can still make friends after 30.....it just takes more of an effort on your part than when you were younger. And once you make them.....you have to be proactive in maintaining the friendship. Too easy to get busy with your life. Still need to make some time to see/hang out with friends.

My longterm friends will always be my friends, but I don't mind meeting new people.
