NY opens first in the USA "bring your own drugs" legal shooting galleries for drug users

The nonprofit-run centers, in East Harlem and Washington Heights, are expected to open as early as Tuesday.
The locations were chosen based on “health need and depth of program experience,” according to the Health Department. The sites will provide clean needles and social services, but users must bring their own drugs.

A place that allows opiates and heroin to be injected inside is gonna go soooooooo well.
I’m not for locking everyone up for this but just openly saying hey, come in here and shoot up is really far from the answer. That’s just helping the problem continue

I don't trust someone like De Blasio to execute this, but the premise has proven to work in places like Switzerland. The problem is you have to keep the addicts accountable when they aren't at the facility. They have to hold jobs and stay out of trouble while they are gradually weened off the stuff. He's too woke for any of that.

These work in other areas of the world but its coupled with them being on a program to start working and getting their life back together.

This has GOT to be the dumbest idea I've heard. And that's saying a lot in this day and age.
I'm sure drug-users will flock to these places.
Imagine how well this marketing pitch would go over on a college campus:
"We don't want you making dangerous decisions with alcohol. So come and do your drinking at the student union where your drinking will be closely monitored by trained staff. Bring your own alcohol and come have fun!"
