Why would this be staged and faked? I don’t follow…I’ve gone back a few pages and still don’t follow this theory

I’m going with the belief that she never expected this to get the attention it did. It was even picked up by the UK Dailey mail. She probably sat there for a couple days watching the news and social media and eventually panicked and called her parents (not the police) because she got in over her head.

I can’t fathom staging my own abduction for attention that’s just so messed up. All the resources that was used the past 48 hours to help look for this woman. If she infact staged this she should be charged and forced to pay back whatever it cost to look for her

2) She returned to her parents’ house shortly before 11pm. Not found at an inn or anywhere else.
3) She called her family telling them she was at the Red Roof Inn. No evidence of her being there when family and police investigated.
This is 99.9% a psychotic break. We’re going to learn more details about Carlee’s mental health struggles over the next few days.

She was prob taken to the hospital for a psych eval.

Obviously this is a better outcome than the tragedy that many feared.
However, if this turns out to be a staged event, it weakens efforts people will have when the next true abduction occurs.

She lived somewhere off the next exit. It’s quite possible for her to have walked to her parents house from that area.
