They would also have cameras showing how she got there

she really is at the red roof, which is about 10 minutes from where she went missing, it makes some kind of kidnapping make more sense. I guess she could be just hiding out in a vacant room, but if she interacted with anyone at the hotel they probably would have recognized her. Her face is everywhere in town.

I believe the rumor is that the family suddenly showed up at the inn saying they got a call from Carlee that she was there

It was the inn folks that called the cops to report it

Or she underestimated how big this story would get and called her family because she realized she was way in over her head.

JB Biunno from WFLA said he can confirm there is no significant police activity at the Red Roof Inn so who knows what's going on

Whether this is true or not, it's scary to think that we live in a day and age where anything can be faked and nothing can be trusted.

But this was PD in a town 30 or 40 minutes away down 280. If Harpersville PD had relevant info they probably would and should deal with Hoover PD directly. Brief Social media post hoping for the best and offering support would have seemed less self serving.

They just added a lot of superlatives to social media post about a person they had just met earlier on the same day she ends up disappearing while she was in their town to take care of some business or whatever that ends up actually meaning.

My first thought was she got ticketed that day or was taking care of some prior traffic deal from passing through going to Martin Lake or Auburn or somewhere closer, and they were using situation to publicly show a lot of support in a post and hoping to get some press for talking up this missing black female without having to get up from their chairs.

I become a cynic when people or organizations offer up too much like that in a social media post and think its really to benefit themselves not about the person mentioned in post.

I believe she had done some volunteer work with them that day. It’s listed in her timeline somewhere on the WBRC 6 website. They didn’t just randomly throw out a press release

It’s only going to get worse with deepfake technology.

If it had happened, how could she have gotten a room with no ID and no credit card? The police surely are monitoring her CC accounts even if the cards were left in her car???

I feel pretty certain she’s had some help. The narrative of an abduction makes zero sense and there is no evidence that backs up one taking place. She simply walked off more than likely over the hill and someone picked her up in the adjacent neighborhood. Until I see evidence to the contrary, I’m of the opinion the whole thing was staged.
