The number of nursing home patients is increasing and is projected to continue to increase

Yea because people live longer now and the boomer generation is now nursing home age which has a lot more people than the previous generation

It’s a fact that other states are pushing more money into home care and LA is doing the opposite because the nursing home lobby is so corrupt

but the fact remains that few people are dying from this that don't already have one foot in the grave.

Why did Joe Diffie have to be one of those few exceptions?!

I do agree with that.

The longer we frick around and delay herd immunity the more nursing facilities will be compromised.

Plus, the frail will die of depression as well.

Failing to open up is going to lead to more deaths!

Numbers do matter. The number of our tax dollars spent to get federal funding.

Why? Because Democratic governors killed people? They did.

Is there any data about prisons by state? Seems Louisiana would have the highest prison cases since they have tested every inmate.

This would be interesting, I don't know if I've seen one reported death from prisons in LA. I know they've reported cases.

I did the math the other day, and if you do not count healthcare workers or longterm care workers and residents, Alabama has an overall state infection rate of 0.13836427%. Even if you account for those most likely to get the virus, the percentage of people infected in the state is still less that half of a percent.

This was really a nothing to the entire country. Especially places that don't have high pop density.

And health care workers risk getting sick from anything anyone has.

Merely glancing at the numbers by state, it looks like colder places have a higher percentage of nursing home deaths relative to total deaths.

Is it because of the cold or because there are less vulnerable, i.e., black, folks that live in cold areas?
