outside of the religious angle, there is absolutely zero incentive for a man to get married. It only protects the woman. It actually incentivizes women to get divorced and along with no fault, is why they initiate the vast majority of them
Two things I’ll never be able to understand about the OT OT is its undying dedication to tradesmen and its unwavering belief that marriage is a trap set by women.
Outside of religious purposes there’s numerous contractual reasons that make marriage mutually beneficial. The only rationale I can think of is that OT overwhelmingly marries broke arse women.
Divorce doesn’t benefit either spouse if their socio-economic footing is equal. If that standing is unbalanced, the lesser of the two will logically demand that contractual security or will move on to the next person willing to provide it.

If we could measure how much selfishness has increased since 2000, this stat would not boggle any minds.

How many of us are driving stupidly expensive trucks, with a lift/tires and a Yeti in the back, Turtle Box in the back seat, pulling a shiny boat? $25k in a side by side. $2000 shotguns to kill the same birds we could kill with a $250 Mossberg 500. I know I'm guilty of that shite. We're just as bad but with different things.

As a longtime sociological rule, women marry up and men marry down, which also helps explain why women are no longer so apt to marry.

But we aren’t talking about buying boats or expensive trucks, we are talking about why young men are shunning marriage. And large part of it is because financially, the man has much more to lose in a divorce. And women are filing for divorce about 70% of the time. And much of that time, the divorce is driven by feelings and emotions and encouraged by other emotional and unhappy women. So let’s compare apples to apples.

Truth .
I dont hunt or fish, but I do watch football.. Ive long said, football is like a soap opera for men.. We follow the storylines and rivalries much like women watch their "stories".. it's ok to admit it, and im fine with it because I am secure.. I guess if a guy is insecure with his masculinity or his sexuality, then he'd hate admitting that we like a good storyline and good drama, same as women, except ours is live action and their's is scripted .

I wonder how many people realize that large numbers of young men who are not having sex (regardless of reason or who's fault it is) is a significant driver of societal upheaval, violence, and revolution.
And violence in society is steadily dropping. So what do we make of that?

Marriage is a failed institution.
1. Marriage inevitably leads to divorce.
2. Divorce leads to custody battle and alimony
3. Divorce means the ex-wife gets custody of the kid (s)
4. Ex-wives get hooked up with other men.
5. They raise your kids.
6. Meanwhile you hook up with someone and raise her kids from a previous marriage.
7. Go back to 1 and repeat three times
8. End you 3-4 kids who barely know you and sure don't respect you
9. End up alone in a retirement home and die.
Suddenly phones + XVideos + Japanese toys looks far more attractive.
No weddings, No divorce lawyers, no child support, no alimony, no kids, no college tuitions.
Most importantly, no messes except for the ones you make with your hands. And those things can clean up.....
Phones cost 2K every 5 years or so.
It is also a great national service.....
Why bring a soul into a world of economic downturns, with layoffs, stagnant wages, ever increasing prices, destroyed family structures, political, social and economic turmoil.....
Also with AI un-employment for white collar, manufacturing jobs will be as high as 90-95%.
If everyone were to become a carpenter, welder, roofer, plumber or electrician then why would anyone need one. They would do the job themselves.
Why bring a soul into a world of un-employment and economic strife???????????

Alcohol consumption is rapidly decreasing.
Many of your violent crimes have someone under the influence
I’ve been in multiple cites the past month where alcohol is being removed from the shelves due to lack of consumption. .

Be careful about using facts & logic here when talking about marriage .... Most of the baws here seem to view relationships through some romcom/chick flick prism and are not realistic at all when it comes to marriage .

Marriage does not inevitably lead to divorce.
It follows that everything that follows is also flawed.
Sorry you didn’t meet or aren’t equipped to realize that you might have met an appropriate wife.
It’s wonderful. You’ll never know. Good luck.

I get it. Cause i ask this question and have yet, after 9 years been able to have it answered with a legit answer. Since i have 3 kids and thats not part of the equations, name one thing of actual value that getting married again would add to my life? Because if there isn’t anything of value that it will add to my life, why would i even want to try for it?
I think it largely depends on if you feel the institution of marriage/commitment is important culturally, religiously, etc. It sounds like it’s more transactional to you by your post so you probably won’t want to try for it.

FYI.... Been married for 18 years. Have a 13 year old kid....Mine is a rarity in todays world.
Still think most marriages end in divorce........................Marriage is a failed institution.....why not just live together?
