not really. I think most people knew that many cops were corrupt and abuse their power. Now we have a way to prove it.

Rumor is that it wasn't police in that video and it was bounty hunters

no. There's always been a section of police that are scum bags. Recent videos coming to surface only shows those that have had blind eyes to the abuses of police power

No. I've known from an early age that people, not just police, suck for the most part.
I remember one time one of our cars had gotten broken into in front of the house. My dad went to check on the house next door (he owns it). The police officer pulls up and starts taking statements. She sees my dad walking back towards the house, sees that he's a dark-skinned Latino, and just accosts him out of nowhere. At the same time, her supervisor pulls up and sees what's going on. With disappointment on his face, he looks at the officer and tells her, "For the love of God, will you get your fricking hands off Dr. Dojo."

If anything it has improved. Not that improved lands them anywhere near acceptable.
It isn't "fair" but in an area like law enforcement, the bad apples really do ruin the lot.

For the sake of the thread lets say that these were legit police officers.
Do we know what kind of threat was there? Do we know what intel they had?
Had law enforcement been monitoring these guys facebooks and found a lot of speech and references of killing cops?
Why was the guy being arrested?
Are the other occupants violent offenders that may be suspects in other cases?
Point is, you cant make rational decisions on a small segment of video. I did not like the cover officers actions in the video. Its ok to be there ready to take action but standing at the ready gun position or flagging people with agun like that is un necessary
I will say, I cringe when I hear a cop bitch about his 'life being on the line" or some crap like that. Its ok to think it but don't project your fear on others

I don't doubt that is the case.
For me though (MWM,53) my encounters with police have not really been unpleasant. Recently, I have had one or two that make me question their attitudes towards the general public.

Didn't need videos, was sent to charity hospital because of a-hole cops. Life was threatened while in custody as well. And few other dealings have molded my opinion. Are all police bad no..but enough abuse their power to raise questions and eyebrows

Maybe on an individual level, but the entire criminal justice system is more corrupt as a whole, so while most may not be "corrupt" in the sense that they are purposefully abusing their authority, they are the foot-soldiers of a fundamentally corrupt scheme which has given them near-absolute authority of the citizenry.
It's cliche' to say, but true nonetheless- "absolute power corrupts absolutely."

For the sake of argument, let's don't even talk about that video specifically.
FT, my Dad was on the NOPD for a few years in the early-mid sixties, so I didn't grow up anti-cop.

Not really.
I think most of us knew that a lot of cops were local boys with chips on their shoulders because they didn't have the initial success of their peers. Naturally, they tend to act like douchebags in such situations.
Also, I think a lot of us know that they tend to ban together and cover up bad acts.
That said, I don't hate the police and I think they're needed. I think a lot, perhaps most, do a good job and want to help. But, the profession is going to continue to be tainted until police abandon the blue shield for the most part.
