Now A Plea For Dog Toys? WTF?

So yesterday I saw several people post GoFundMe accounts to beg for money b/c their 500k+ houses flooded.
Today I see a girl that I worked with begging for dog toys for her 10 yr old dog. She's asking people to please donate money or dog toys for her beloved dog b/c she lost all of her toys in the flood. This girl has a professional job and is not destitute. What's happening to people with all this begging? Is it just becoming more acceptable? Dog toys dont cost much. Just go buy a few yourself. Or don't. I mean truly WTF people

The better ones that last aren't necessarily "cheap." By better, I mean companies like West Paw Design and Kong.
Not your run of the mill Chinese made dog toy that is found inside Target or Walmart.
