Wait until they have to rename the town, “White”.
Or maybe No Mo Castle.
Not sure.

I looked up some videos and they show what looks like volunteer firefighters in street clothes outside the building a good 40 ft. away dumping thousands of gallons of water inside the building that is showing no visible fire.
You can see there are some hot spots but to put them out it will take getting inside and ripping trim, ceilings, etc. open to get to the hot spots, not dumping more water through windows and doors from the lawn.
From the videos I saw, it looks like about 1/2 of the front area is deeply burned but there will be far more damage due to smoke and water than the actual fire before it's done.

Nottoway Plantation, also known as Nottoway Plantation House is located near White Castle, Louisiana, United States. The plantation house is a Greek Revival- and Italianate-styled mansion built by enslaved African people and artisans for John Hampden Randolph in 1859, and is the largest extant antebellum plantation house in the South with 53,000 square feet (4,900 m2) of floor space.

From those photos, it looks like the right side wing of the house, not the front of the mansion that faces the river.
Looks like firefighters are standing in what's labeled "fountain courtyard" in the photo below.

You are correct. The videos I saw didn't show much more than the area involved in fire so it was hard to put a fix on the location.

At least it wasn't the rotunda area. Seems like that would be a lot costlier to repair.

Certainly not! My money is on kids, because I’d have probably done something like that when I was a little shithead.

Pics on WBRZ appear that they may have contained the fire. If so, I would have firefighters camped there for two days to prevent a rekindle.

I can't imagine how many brides are shitting their pants right now. Especially whoever is booked for 2 days from now.
She's probably making him rethink

In a hundred years people will be getting married here.

Lots of comments in the story on Facebook about the ghosts of slaves getting retribution. Miserable people.
According to my tour guide, the house was completed 1859. Not sure if slaves built the house but if not, there wasn’t much time for slavery there before abolition.

This made me chuckle thinking someone will probably try to torch the CCLA clubhouse because they thought it was a plantation that had slaves.
The corridors there are only haunted by the ghosts smells of bad wedding reception sex.

I am hoping that it is not too bad. That may be my favorite plantation home outside of Natchez. Been there numerous times for the plantation, the restaurant and for candlelight weddings.

Do they still make that salad dressing? That stuff was the bomb back in the 90s

WAFB is reporting flames are through the roof now 3 hours after the fire started. It’s not looking good.
