I would say statistically speaking it is deifnitely more likely that there was an accident during renovation than a terrorist attack...don’t you think?

Normally I would agree.

But with the vast amount of French churches (many in Paris) being targets of vandalism and arson in recent weeks, I don’t think it’s a coincidence. I mean, the same thing (afternoon arson) happened to another famous cathedral just a couple weeks ago

and how does a terrorist get access to the roof of one of the most famous buildings in the world without being noticed?

Why would a terrorist attack be setting an area of the church under construction on fire? I'm not a terrorism expert but that seems pretty far from their M.O.

If it turns out to be an accident by one of the construction companies, the management and owners will be criminally prosecuted.

Fly a drone with a payload designed to cause a fire? Not likely but just saying it's not impossible.

That the French police are covering up terror attacks? No I don't find it plausible

It was being renovated. Have you ever been on a construction site? It's very easy to gain access.

Don't underestimate how much extreme Muslims despise Christianity and especially Catholicism.

Might be a dumb question, but with the fire chief coming out saying the structure has been preserved, does that mean in fact this isn’t a catastrophe anymore?

More like a fire burning a kitchen in a house but leaving rest intact?

IMO, the Jesuits will have all the answers by 5pm tomorrow. They have eyes & ears everywhere.

Whether they'll share any information is another question.

Idk, easy access and flammable materials? Exposed structure? It’s not like he’d walk up to the front door. I’m not a terrorism expert either

It means they put enough of the fire out that the heat is no longer a threat to collapse the walls. Despite the walls being stone they can crack under extreme prolonged heat and cause structural failure.

I assume he means the walls and general shape of the lower portion will remain. But I also assume everything is gutted.

Easier access/ability to burn down the building

You're correct, we just have some people so committed to it being terrorism they'll disagree with your very neutral statement of fact

9/11 was a tremendous outlier when it comes to the creativity of Islamic terrorists.
