I am taking the class and then taking the test in April. Any advice? Why is it so hard to pass? I heard 20% pass it the first time.

Thanks in advance.

easy fix if you live in louisiana

go to law school for 3 years, pay $150,000K or so in tution/loans, pass the bar, pay notary license fee

BOOM! you have your notary license and didnt even have to take the notary test

Judging by the notaries I've dealt with. It can not be "THAT" hard.

My wife's cousin has failed it twice. Surprised the pass rate is that low

I'm not a notary so would someone please tell me why there is a test and what type of questions are on it? I thought notaries just vouched that someone really did sign a document.

A friend of mine took it and said it was the hardest test she's ever taken.

I just asked and she said to join the LA Notary Association.
Lots of resources there.

In the State of Louisiana a Notary can do anything a lawyer can do except practice law/argue in court.

Banker tellers are not notaries, unless they take the notary test. You probably referring to Medallion Signature Stamp. It's specifically for securities transfer and available at most banks.

not as a requirement, but it would be difficult to find a bank where several of the staff were not notaries
