So I had a guy that works for me request the morning off next Wednesday because he has to go to the DVM to take the test for his driver’s license. He’s 25 and has never driven a car.

I mean, he did grow up in a place with ample public transportation, so I can see why it wasn’t a necessity. But I feel like he missed out on a really big life experience.

I remember waking up so I could be at the DMV right when they opened on my 16th birthday. I couldn’t wait to drive my first car.

Anyway, tl;dr, CSB, and all that. Just thought it was interesting.

I got mine the day I turned 15 but we lived in the country and my dad started letting me run to the store at like 12

Growing up where you don't need one is when thing, however waiting so long to get it is perplexing. But I have a 19 year old cousin whose weird and just doesn't want to drive. My 80 year old grandma has to lug his arse around, really pisses me off to be honest.

Had a cousin that was like that. She lived in England, was an exchange student in Japan, went to college in a city then moved to a bigger city. Didn't get her license until well into her 20's and didn't care.

I know a dude who is 28 and still doesn’t have one. Dude rides his bike everywhere and seems to have no desire to get a DL.

Its not that surprising, if you live in big cities you really don't need to deal with cars. Sorry he's not a small time baw

No, as I said in the OP, he grew up in a place with ample public transportation. So between the metro, bus system, everything being walkable, and a bike, he never needed to drive.

Anyone who didn't start driving at 16/17 missed out big time. There was nothing that can replace the freedom i felt as a 16 year old being able drive anywhere I wanted without the parents knowing

I got mine the day I turned 15 and I had a car 6 mos prior to that.

My kids may or may not get their license much less a car when they turn 16. They can walk to and from school so I really don’t see a reason why they need their own vehicle until they are at least seniors in high school.

My SO’s younger brother is 22 and in his final year of college at UMaine and still doesn’t have his license.

Complete loser. Is obsessed with anime. Thinks he’s black. Gets nervous at the thought of driving. If the family cooks or orders in, he refuses to eat it or has to order from a separate restaurant. Just a complete loser and piece of shite. He couldn’t even try our for his high school basketball team (although he really loved it) because of his “apprehension”.

I’ve tried reaching out to the kid, Tried to make him an OT alpha like me, but he’s beyond hope. Hopeless cuck pussy who worships blacks.

My kids will never get to experience that unless they leave their phone, remove the ODB sensor, and remove the microchip from the back of their neck.

j/k I won't take their phone.

DL = freedom.

Without one you're limited

Sounds like not driving is the least of that guy’s problems.

100% correct. It's not about just being able to drive to school its about being able to go anywhere you want without your parents breathing down your neck for the first time in your life

God damn, it’s so nice to vent about.

I bring that shite up to her and she acts like it’s completely normal. When I was his age, I was getting done with 2 deployments in the Marines and this motherfricker is too nervous to drive? Give me a break!
