On sept 23 Ann takes over as interim before her hearing next month. Latoya may be dumb but I doubt she does that unless she knows she has 4 votes.

Yea, because latoya couldn’t mishandle this with arrogance and then have something come up that’s embarrassing and causes a fight with city council

It doesn't matter who they install: Tackling violent crime in NOLA is a lost cause- and Police Chief Saddam Hussein is no longer an option.

Maybe stop letting a large criminal element take up residence under the bridge from the river to the Superdome and see if that helps. Common sense stuff would be nice.

Maybe you know something different, but crimes committed by that community are for the most part against that community.

You don't really hear of much bum on normie action.

The fact that Thomas and Green were listed as no votes put up the red flag. Why would she choose a candidate knowing that her allies on the counsel would not vote for.

Was Oakland chief for less than a year and was booted because she wouldn't give council members their "due". Won a federal lawsuit for wrongful termination

You do have to question why would anyone from the outside want that job?

Makes me think something is wrong with that person

Especially a person at the end of her career

Because it's Teedy doing passive aggressive things. She told Woodfork long ago the job would be hers. Council got involved and likely told Teedy she can't do that. So she puts on a farce search and "chooses" a candidate which the Council would likely say is the best of the options. Green and her other cronies will vote "no" and it will be a problem to get new hire in position giving Woodfork the seat for an extended length of time and likely opening up the city to at least one or two law suits.

Personal challenge? Certainly a problem to fix. It's undeniable the need for a capable head and it would be quite the achievement to make even the slimmest of improvement. She does it for a little bit and springboards into a lucrative consulting position and washes away any bad taste from her old stops.

If arrogance was her play, she would just put up Woodfork.

Given Destroya, the recruiting problems, and the consent decree, we weren't gonna get A-1 top flight candidates, and the candidate pool relfects that.

It was always going to be either someone woefully underqualified trying to make a huge jump, or someone who failed at another place, looking for a second chance.

The more I read about her time in Oakland, the more it appears that might have been even a more F'd up situation than anything in NOLA. She seemed to have a significant portion of the political leaders against her from the jump, and never got the time to make any real improvements. I think her wrongful termination suit victory kind of reinforces that.

As several other posters have said, of all the finalists, she was likely the least objectionable. The last time we went out of market, we got Pennington, who turned out to be pretty damn good. (I don't count Serpas as out of market since he had worked here before).

The crime in the city won’t get better until the consent decree is terminated. Not sure many on this board realize just how much the consent decree prevents NOPD from actually performing law enforcement activities.

The police need the ability to crack some sculls. Not too many sculls, becausae that invites the feds in, but they need to crack a few.

They can't do that as long as the decree is there.

Tommy Tucker is a soy boy, leftist cuck. Now I would listen to her interview if she went on the Newell Normand show.
