Bit don't worry, the Garden District is nice sometimes...

LOL

No matter what temporary professional discomfort would happen to you, every single normal human being should get the frick out of there and get their family somewhere where it's not only safe, but gives them a chance at a normal life.

LET IT DIE

This is pussy shite right here, straight up. Period end of story.

Give a two week notice and go out like a professional.

Don’t know about putting in two weeks notice but he should of not gone on shift or at least finish the shift that he started. Obviously he was on the verge of resigning. But good for him for taking his well being in mind and not letting them shite on him by telling his side to the media.

Based on his explanation, he made a logic decision that I can back.

If he is one of the few officers on duty and, as another thread notes, the backlog of calls is about a three hour delay between a call and the investigation, then he is up shite creek if anything goes wrong.

NOLA is basically Old Detroit from the Robocop films at this point. If Murphy says “frick this shite” and goes home during his first shift, he doesn’t become Robocop.

Professional? Professional is giving the officers adequate resources to deal with a mid-sized city. Don’t put the onus of professionalism on a 23 y/o kid who is risking his life every single shift. I support the officers right to walk away from an unsafe situation.

Yes Sir, you are correct’ I’ve got a couple good buddies that are NOPD (one for a very long time) & one of them’s dad was a Captain back in the day. & Myself just being tied into certain industry/biz in The city, have hundreds of years of ancestors etc Some of My family still lives on River Road & they have gunfire videos on their home security video system that overlooks river road. Happens a couple times a week/month. Just open gunfire with cars shooting at cars, random craziness going on.

The PRISONERS ARE RUNNING THE ASSYLUM. & IT SUCKS TO LOSE A CITY LIKE NEW ORLEANS.

It was once the NY of the South, one of the gateways to the USA/WORLD. And it still has the River which feeds the world.

Nola has a European feel with history and architecture, World class city at one time, something to make you proud of, but not anymore.

it has gone to hell with poor leadership for many decades. It gets worse with time & Covid put a nail in the coffin.

And overall. these policemen & women (sounds like yourself), but they have had to go thru it all.

I wouldn’t want to do that job neither, it’s not safe at all, walking out your house every day thinking “is today the day I’m gonna be in some major shootout and put in a casket”.

The Fed & Local Gov’t is against them
The Left has created a war on Police.
More times than not, the police get the bad wrap & scared to get sued. While the criminals are untouchable and let out of jail the same day.

Basically the police have been handcuffed by BLM and the other SOROS sponsored programs.

What people don’t realize is the non-stop pressure on the streets for LE, in the blink of an eye, you’ve got to make instant decisions to save your life or someone else’s.

And for the record. I was held up at gun point to my forehead on NAPOLEAN Avenue/Broadmoor Uptown in December 2007, 2 months after my daughter born. The guy was a hit man for the Nola drug gangs & released due to OVERCROWDING in OPP. He went on an Armed robbery crime spree and was on front page of picayune as the “Christmas Day Killer”. GOD was on my side that night, most everyone else got shot, injured and killed.

Anyways Sir, thanks for your service, be safe and prayers sent for a safe retirement! Take care

Deserved.

I'm sure the "citizens" of New Orleans played an incredibly large part in his decision.
