NOLA Parking Fines Soar

NEW ORLEANS - If you are prone to getting parking tickets in the city of New Orleans, expect it to cause you more pain in the pocketbook.
Starting Monday, Feb. 29, a parking violation will cost you $30, up from the previous cost of $20.
There is even a more substantial cost for parking in a residential parking spot without a permit. Those 2-hour maximum parking spots will cost you $75, up from $40.

I never pay for parking. I'll effing walk a mile before I pay. Did this two days ago actually. Parked on the street in the Marigny and walked to the Civic

My parents have handicapped license plates. You're supposed to have 3 hours of available to park for free. Meter maid wrote up a ticket 15 minutes after we parked and said it went over time. Wasted a whole morning at parking authority because of the idiots. Only reason we did anything was so car wouldn't get booted.
