How much longer until these field hospitals are built by our military? Wasn’t that supposed to be a thing?

In NOLA the military has plans to convert hotels into corona hospitals. Basically, all they need is vents and supplies. Also allows the hospitals to continue treating other patients such as heart attacks, which are still occurring.

People need to stop making threads to spread misinformation and prejudice. Grow the frick up.

Send all of the triage cases to BR that way the good beds and care in NO remain available for serious cases. Makes sense.

St. George’s hospitals have refused entry to any patients coming from Jefferson or Orleans parish.

There is plenty of bed space in BR. OLOL main campus and children’s patient count is waaaay down. Mostly due to folks putting off treatment or elective procedures due to the virus. Wife was bored to death yesterday at work.

So why is OLOL pushing for more and more beds?

Maybe prepping for potential upticks or transfers. My wife is on a system-wide call every morning and the admins are saying the count is down in every facility.

I would think that they can only be moved within the same hospital system. OLOL doesn’t have to take on patients from oschner, however, Sunmit is an Oschner facility and I could see that move being made if needed

I really don’t think there have been any pts moved to BR for capacity issues. There may have been one or two by specific request.

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. BR will likely blow up on its own soon
