SFP's law #2: when people bring up "consumer safety" in terms of governmental policies, it's going to be a shite show

There is no reason for a limo driver to be anti Uber. The limo drivers can sign up to become Uber drivers.
What if the limo driver doesn't own the limo itself (I'd imagine that most don't).

Right because cabbies are so safe. And cabs only carry 25/50 insurance policies. frick them.

This guy has no idea how Uber works.

They most definitely could if they wanted to.
Some of these people are dumb enough to join forces with the very people they are fighting. The big problem is with the taxi drivers.

this guy's entire argument actually supports Uber being in NOLA.

So the same guys that are anti uber are going to be working with uber ?
No, uber drivers do not own taxis, they use their own vehicles. There's nothing to stop current taxi drivers from working for uber if they own a car, but they must pass a background check, be ok with being rated by their passengers, and presumably keep their car clean. They are very threatened by this.

That argument cracks me up. Tons of cabbies drive like maniacs. From experience, during rush hour, a lot of them cut people off on I-10 at the Causeway exit + hold up drivers in middle lanes doing it.

God I love Uber. It makes scummy guys like this so scared, exactly what Napster did to the music industry.

I've never even thought of that. I've twice forgotten wallets in cabs. The first time they were great and mailed it back to me. The second time (about 2 months ago) I got nothing. Couldn't remember which company/cab # I took. And I'm 100% sure I left it in there, so either another passenger took it or the cab driver did. Uber would, at least, let you know the exact vehicle that the wallet was left in.

The whole point of Uber is that everything is transparent and accountable. This terrifies the cab industry.

Exactly. And they try and spin it the other way saying they're transparent and Uber isn't.
