The best thing is to either not go to his restaurants or if you don’t leave a tip

It hits the owner in the pocketbook when you don’t leave a tip - the wait staff has to be paid minimum wage no matter what

And I’m not talking about the $2 an hour they get

Nah, this crap isn't going to do anything but hurt the server. His restaurants aren't bringing in patrons like Buffalo Wild Wings or Red Lobster. If one or two people leave no tip, there will be several others that are still going to. Adolpho doesn't have to worry about his people not making minimum wage.

You should just leave one and point out how idiotic his take on twitter was when Letlow wasn't even a "covid denier" or "mask skeptic," but rather he just saw republic and was blinded by partisanship.

That’s worse than his tweet.

Seriously, when someone dies, you put aside all the differences you had with that person. At least, that's what decent people do.

Best thing to do, if you are so inclined, is to just not go. Not tipping fricks over people who really need the money right now. Min wage + tips is not the same as regular min wage, plus the owner still makes his money off the food and drink.

Most people here won’t go anyway bc most people here don’t live in NOLA and are unlikely to visit. As with most of these threads, it’s all outrage and lip service.

As for me, I don’t care. If the food is good, I’ll eat and Ancora happens to have excellent pizza and is close to my house.

While true, he won't see business drop off because of this.

Of course, he will. Numerous people just on here have said they enjoyed the food numerous times, but will never go there again. That causes some drop off. It might not be a catastrophic level of drop off, but right now with all the limitations, restaurants need every guest they can get.

I assure you as nasty as this guy is, he makes sure his employees are of the same ilk.

Doubt he notices 3...maybe 4...people who patronize his restaurants once in a blue moon.

You know he'll be fine because of all the like minded Nola rats ITT passively defending this fat slob. There are plenty that simply don't care and just as many that like that kind of rhetoric.

Yes I understand - but the wait staff has to make at least $7.25 an hour by law

Their pay is $2.13 an hour - the waiter has to make at least $5 an hour in tips for hours worked - one ten dollar tip takes care of two hours (technically)

I’m not saying the waiters aren’t getting screwed bc they usually make a lot more than $7.25 an hour - but Garcia has to pay the difference for tips if they all of a sudden disappear

I live in New Orleans, close to his places. I can’t say I’ll NEVER go to one of his restaurants again but it will never be my idea or suggestion

Those people add up in a pandemic with limitations when you are charging $50 for steaks. He already completely shut down La Boca once when COVID hit because people don't want to drop a lot of $ on a shitty experience with all the limitations.

There are lots of liberals in New Orleans, for sure. But right now is not the time to be taking additional hits. Restaurants are a volume business.

No, I’m just not so feeble minded that I let politics dictate what businesses I patronize. I also find it ironic that worse things are said to and about liberals on this website daily but a known liberal chef in a known liberal city says something on Twitter and everyone should now boycott. It’s all pretty stupid.
