My co-worker just got diagnosed with stage IV neuroendocrine cancer that has spread to the liver. She has been talking to many local ATL area doctors but not getting good vibes from them but has heard this Dr. Boudreaux guy is the man for this type of cancer. Anyone had any experience or know anything about him or his practice?

I work in the field and have worked with Dr. Boudreaux. He is a great doctor and his clinic is top notch. His attitude is a little rough around the edges but if I was ever diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumor, he’s who I would want.

Best of luck to your coworker.

Works out of Ochsner Kenner. Draws in patients from all over the country. His patients love him. If he’s getting referrals from all over he must be doing something right.

I’m a pharmaceutical rep that calls on GI/colon and rectal surgeons but have met Dr. Boudreaux a couple times. All of my docs refer their patients to him and they speak very highly of him. I don’t have any personal stories to share but from everything I’ve heard, he’s the real deal

I know him well. Ochsner Kenner is amongst very top neuroendocrine facilities in the country (surprisingly?). We do it extremely well and get people from all over the country and out of the country flying in.

It's a distance, but worth going to New Orleans for him.

Not even close.

As I recall, the school CumCakes thread last year had someone who registered in 2004 or so and had under 10 total posts.

I’ve seen others similar in other threads and have called a couple of them out that were bad. (Like “You average less than a post a year and then you post THIS shite?”)

Good luck to the OP on their situation.

I was a med student with him on a general surgery rotation. Did a ton of surgery and specifically this type with him. It’s been a while, but he had a great team, he does some very unique things and has a good team he operates with. He’s talented in the operating room. For these rare tumors, short of going to other very specifically targeted centers around the world, you won’t get better more cutting edge care.

Dr Boudreaux did the kidney transplant surgery on my son and I when son was 2 years old at Children’s in NoLA. Getting an adult kidney in a 2 year olds body is no small feat. He was excellent back then (late 90’s).

Didn’t you have a family member that needed a kidney back in 2012?

I’ve worked with Boudreaux and this is spot on. One of the best in the country. People come from all over the US to see him. I’ve been in the OR with him and the man is meticulous.

Sure did.. same son.

He got a transplant at 2 years old, it lasted 6 months. Then got eligible for another transplant in 2012. He received a kidney in 2019 and is doing very well.

I worked with him for many years and I second what many have said here. He is VERY meticulous in the OR. It is not uncommon for him to be in the OR 8-12 hours trying to get as many tumors out as possible. God forbid if I ever get a neuroendocrine tumor I’d seek him out for sure. They had people from all over the country that would fly to Kenner to see him. Patients love him!
