Hey Randy. I'm sorry to hear about your friend. I have stage 4 neuroendocrine cancer also. It's in my sinuses, of all places. Luckily mine has not spread.
I wish nothing but the best for your friend. The treatment is tough.

I had to move to Birmingham to receive treatment at proton center at UAB. Very lucky to have that. I saw where WK Hospital in Shreveport has that also. Would that be a possibility for your friend?

Just seeing these replies, thanks. I showed her this thread and it made her feel good about her decision to seek his counsel. She is not sure what her options her but she has a virtual meeting with Dr. Boudreaux on Monday and will hopefully find out more then.
