You know you’ve become a rap legend when there’s a drive-by shooting murder at your funeral after you were murdered.

If you don’t believe we’ve become accustomed to stuff like this, think about how you’d feel if you went to a cousin or sibling’s funeral -because they were murdered- and had to take cover because a passing vehicle sprayed gunfire. It’s so unthinkable and absurd that I can’t imagine it happening to me, but when I hear about it happening in Nipsey’s probable surroundings here in the USA, it’s no big deal.

This is why so many more black people in jail than white people. It’s not because of racism.

Didn't hear about him until he died. How much of a legend can he really be?

I never heard of this guy until he was killed. I've never felt more out of touch.

This is probably going to get downvoted on here, but Nipsey Hussle actually wasn’t a thug or a dindu. He gave back a lot to the community, helped people who were struggling get jobs, donated money to South L.A. schools. He was one of the good guys in hip hop.

I had never heard of Nipsey Hussle until he died. That’s a sweet arse name though.

Same. He was even nominated for a Grammy and I know Kendrick Lemar wins the rap ones every year and I still don’t recall ever hearing Nipsey’s name.

A drive by at your funeral procession is like a Straight Outta Compton ghetto throw back

Maybe the bloods and crips will start their war back up like the first gang war that Ronald Reagan started.

I must have a different definition of "legend" in my dictionary.

Here's the thing. I think that's great. But your telling that to the wrong audience. The dudes who shot him down in the street are the ones who need to be hearing that. You think they are on the OT?

Someone explain this guy to me. The media and black community (FB friends. I am from a highly diverse community and have a large % of black friends) tells me he was a peace maker. Community activists. If true, why did someone kill him, and shoot up his funeral?

ETA

I may be thinking of the wrong one

Such a shame. He was buying real estate and opening businesses, a true Socrates and St. Thomas Aquinas in the making.

Didn't we have a thread a day or two ago saying this was going to happen?
