Twins born at 31 weeks 4 days. 3lbs 4oz and 2lbs 1oz. Biggest issue was learning to feed on their own. Eventually made it out around 38 weeks. Perfectly healthy and happy 8 year olds today.

16 days. No major issues. Left after Dr finally said “I can’t think of a reason why she should stay longer.” Born 4 pounds and came home at 4 pounds 8 oz

Twins born at 32 weeks. Stayed 7 weeks due to Bradys and learning to eat on their own. Nobody told me about the bradys, so the first time it happened while I touched on of their hands and I thought I killed her.
NICU is super difficult even with healthy babies because they will have setbacks, and
The timeframes you are given aren't set in stone. They told us they were coming home tomorrow, then that next day they would tell us 5 more days. We also had 2 older ones to take care of back home, and I had to work too. Long days as I would go to the hospital at 5 AM and again after the older kids were in bed.

Our girls are almost 2, and have moments that make the NICU look like a cakewalk. They are both absolute terrors, but fun as heck and adorable. Completely healthy. We just left them with grandparents for a week to go to Italy for a 10th anny trip.

Hang in there. The NICU folks are miracle workers. Plus side of it all is they got the twins on a schedule for us, so we didn't have to do that part on our own!

Hang in there. We were in the NICU because there was blood in his urine. Ended up having to remove a kidney that was encapsulated by a tumor. He is fine now. Sounds like you are just having some common issues.

Stayed in 8 days
Born January 7, 2018, 5 weeks early
Some nurses thought he should have been out after 3 days. Some said he shouldn't have been in there at all.

Just got the NICU bill in last week, $40,000

Hang in there.

98 days. Twins born at 26 weeks. Weighed 1-9 and 1-10. They seemingly had every issue that was out there but survived. We nearly lost one with NEC, but the Drs., with prayer, saved her. They came home on machines and sensors etc. Now just over 16 years old. Nothing long term stuck with them. Very blessed.

A week. He had some apnea issues, holding his breath. It was tough being discharged and leaving without him.

Today he's a healthy almost 7 year old and hit a home run the other day in a coaches pitch game.

Son was born with a hole in his diaphragm. Stomach and intestines went through hole and moved his heart and lung. One lung was not fully formed because of it. Airlifted to Dallas children’s same day. Had emergency surgery two days later. Spent 15 Days there. He is now 15 and perfectly fine.

Drunkenpukin, you mentioned he still can’t really nurse. Is he feeding well otherwise?

Drunkenpunkin not sure NICU parent PTSD was a thing until I read your post. Interesting concept. I’m not sure any attention is given to this during and post NICU stay. I may run this past a friend or two still working in NICU.
