First son, adopted - 2 months early. NICU about 6 weeks. Came home Christmas Day 2013

Second son - Single ventricle heart defect; modified HLHS. Airlifted to Texas Children's 5 days after birth from Woman's for 1st open heart surgery. In CVICU for a couple months. Came home to our temporary Houston apartment(required to stay in town) and had second open heart surgery this past December. Back in Baton Rouge right before the New Year. Wife stayed in Houston while me and our older son traveled back and forth on the weekend for 4 months.
