This is why you never buy the first year of any car model especially Fords Chevys or Dodges

Have you priced a Honda lately?

They are just as expensive if not more.

What about all the other Fords that were catastrophically unreliable?

Weren’t the first ecoboost F-150’s terribly unreliable too?

Call me old school but I just don’t trust a turbo’d motor living a long life

Wonder how their electric vehicles are faring.

They use the 2.7 in the F-150.

What gets me is that Toyota has 10+ year old architecture and it still sells like crazy. But it actually runs.

I buy a 4runner well before I’d buy a Ford anything. I’m completely burnt out on American vehicles. Maybe I just made poor choices but I switched to a Honda in 2008 and no looking back. Foreign all the way for me from here on out.

My last ford went $350k miles before needing a transmission rebuild. One that I was able to do myself in a weekend. My new Ford needed a transmission at 42,000 miles.

Explorer? Those new ones really suck. Ford got the proportions and the configuration setup right, but screwed up everything else.

I can understand a defect in the rear diff that might cause an issue immediately with fluid leaks. But 40k is so random. Maybe they are using cheaper metals or something?
