No human being has 500 friends.

Also, they probably have a limit on how many people they can let into the park, and it is probably a lot less than 500.

What a fricking joke. Water park about to get taken to the cleaners in an out of court settlement because they dared to inconvenience the most coddled demographic in the country.

So, they do know for a fact that at least one (probably more) social media post was made promoting a party to the general public. That voids the contract right there. They also know for a fact, verified by police, that at least 500 people showed up for the party. Not what ConZ said about estimating attendance, guessing and shite, they laid eyes on at least 500 people in the parking lot. That, too, voids the contract as the agreement was for 250 people and no admission would be charged. These assholes were trying to skin the park for double the people they actually paid for.

Someone from the park, evidently, got fed up with the bullshite and said something they probably shouldn't have on social media. I hate that, but it doesn't have a damn thing to do with the fact that these assholes made decisions that led to actions that directly and unquestionably voided their contract. Hell, if we read the fine print we would probably find that the park wasn't even required to refund their money after the bullshite they pulled. Fire the employee who made the post that hurt their feelings, tell the "family" to frick off, and keep rolling.

Long story short, the brain trust crying racism voided their contract in more than one way and now they want to cry about it.

ETA: If I had a kid having a birthday party at a movie theater, and I paid in advance for 25 people to watch the movie, but 50+ kids showed up to the party, would I be justified in being pissed when the theater doesn't allow my party in because I only paid for half the little shits that showed up? Should I get my feelings hurt and cry to a lawyer and the media? Or should I accept the fact that I am a dumbass who attempted to grift a movie theater and chalk it up to a learning experience?

In a truly 'equitable' world they get no refund and have to cover additional expenses of the water park through the numerous breaches of contract, not the other way around.

And the employee that hurt feelings stays on with a lecture about how nothing good can come from a Facebook post, especially regarding the protected demographic.

But we all know how these things actually play out in the court of public opinion, we've seen it too many times. Water park will grovel and apologize, promise sensitivity training then cut a fat check to the family and their grifting lawyers.

The supply of racism will never keep up with the demand. Its great business.

you and LegendInMyMind are correct. Unfortunately social media and the media will hype this up and the judge will feel the pressure. And the cycle continues

So he payed for 250, but 500 showed up? If they can prove that he has no case.

the renting party booked Summit Waves for a teen birthday party scheduled for Saturday, August 6 from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and indicated 250 attendees.

They rented a two hour block for a birthday party.

a social media post advertising an event called “Splash Blast 2” from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Summit Waves.

Announcing the birthday party on social media is one thing, and a violation of their contract. However, they went waaayyy beyond that. They were promoting an event and trying to get as many people as possible to attend. They also added extra time beyond their two hour block.

quote:

The renting party arrived around 6:15 pm at which time LSPR staff reiterated the event was canceled.

Surprise! They continued to stretch that two hour rental block. This time by over an hour.

quote:

Lee’s Summit Police estimated the crowd to be approximately 500 people between 7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The staff at the water park know what they are doing, and they deserve a medal and a raise. They sniffed this out before it turned into a disaster. If 500 people had already showed up before this “birthday party” was scheduled to begin, then that was only the tip of the iceberg.

They've already proven it. Police are already on record in the report estimating the crowd in the parking lot being at least 500 people. I'm sure there are pics and video of the crowd as well. ConZ wants you to believe the park is making that bit up and they were just speculating that many people were going to show up.

It still wasn’t proven that 500 people were going to be there though. The family even acknowledged that they paid for 250 people. And as for the part where the park says it failed to bring their own security…well the family in the video even says that they brought their own security, so even though the park may say they have the right to do what it wants, their actions seem to be based on bullshite.

Does anyone tire of this ignorant moron just drive by posting threads with his idiotic takes and never responding again? It has to be a troll job at this point.

So… contract says 250 people, they brought twice that, and they are claiming the water park was the one who breached the contract?

The water park may take some bad press over this but no fricking way they lose over a blatant violation of contract.
