I remember the good old days when to post on TD you had to mail a letter to chicken and then buy the weekly print out to see the discussion

Greatest day of my life was when Playboy digitized all of their models and put it on the interwebz in chronological order.

Netscape ?
Yup! Still using my Netscape address. That was modern shydt back in the day!
My first network experiences were back in the early seventies when I became part of an early cooperative effort of a few agricultural colleges. I had to dial in to a special number that reached an incoming WATS line at the university, then go through the necessary access protocol and give my access verification number (AGNX1652) before being able to call programs.
Later, on in the 1970s, two professors at the University of Nebraska, one of whom was my good friend Dr Tommy Thompson, conceived the idea of an agricultural computer system. I was able to access their programs in the early development stage.
Ultimately, the computer system they developed, (later known as AGNET–The Agricultural Computer Network) spread to multiple colleges and universities across the country.
In 1977, the governors of Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Montana and Wyoming jointly funded a pilot project to test if farmers and ranchers in their respective states would use a computer system to make better operating decisions. Definitely the early days of internet activity.

I graduated from Northwestern State in 1984. I had no idea how totally computers would be a part of everyone's lives.

That last quote about "this fellow isn't worried about being out of a job." was insightful.
That's a really cool video clip.
