New Zealand is seeking further information on sexual misconduct allegations against Matt Lauer to decide if he is still fit to own property in the country.
The country requires foreigners who purchase land in New Zealand to be "of good character."
Lauer purchased a 16,000-acre ranch worth $9.1 million on New Zealand's South Island earlier this year.
Last month, NBC fired Lauer after a colleague accused the TV anchor of sexual misconduct.

that's pretty fricking cheap for that much property in such a beautiful place. Think I'll start doing some research on small tracts there.

ETA: ‘good character’ rules nevermind

In some places, Matt's political leanings will outweigh his vices.

That's why I always laugh when people say they want to move to countries that have immigration laws 100x more stringent than the US because Trump wants to curtail illegal immigration. Hell, you can't even cross into Canada if you got a DWI 10 years ago.

I guess Prince Charles couldn't own land there either, and he's heir to the whole damn shabang.

I mean if you want to act like Canada is stopping every single American who has a DUI at the border. You would be completely wrong.

Not to mention, if an individual is that worried about not being allowed into the country. You can apply for documentation explaining your situation.

Lauer bent a woman over a chair in his office and boinked her until she passed out. Don't the good women of NZ realize what an asset he could be for their country? Or do their husbands already possess his sexual skills?

I was just joking, dude.

The point is that these countries that everyone claims as beacons of liberal dogma have far more strict immigration standards than the "evil" US. Hell, Australia essentially has immigrant concentration camps in the middle of the ocean.

I haven't read the article. Is the property just seized by the government? Is it forced to sale and he gets the money?

I deem this blatantly sarcastic post to be a-hole-like, you're going to jail.

See how that works?

He would be forced to sell

If he didn't, the government would seize it

People don’t even know about immigration In other countries and realize how ridiculously lax it is here.

Its up for sale for 3 years and no buyers?

Do they just take it?
