I absolutely love visiting New York. My wife and I go often. I too love to just walk the city. It’s the best pizza city in the world. I don’t think I could ever live there, but it is great to visit for a long weekend.

Neighbors who would watch you being stabbed to death, never lift a finger and then never co operate w police. We dont have that in small towns nor rural areas, we have a sense of community that no city has.
But yeah, the food and museums are as good as it gets.

I too have walked most of lower Manhattan exploring everything I had heard about.
Being the type of person I am, I chose not to see any of the plays because I'd have to find an excuse to get up and visit a concession, go to a bathroom, or anything to satisfy my ADHD or things related to the spectrum. I walk and walk and walk. When I left, my Doc Martens thanked me.
Before going, I had mental notes of things I wanted to see; Wall Street, the Bull, Little Italy/Chinatown, the Empire State Building, Broadway, Times Square, Central Park, and so many other sites.
Later on I've gone down into the 911 memorial but the last time, about 6 or 7 years ago, I chose to ride with my traveling partner doing the driving.
Yes, it is a great city but so is Los Angeles, Anchorage, and Miami. All for different reasons.
But to be candid, my favorites are walking the deserts and mountains with a Nikon looking for rattlesnakes, sunsets and the wonders of America.

Yeah, who doesnt love living in filth with trash covering the sidewalks, rat infested buildings and paying $5k a month to live in a shoe box.
