But what about the 20 year old pre med student just looking to party like millions of other adults have done in their youth and they get fentanyl laced drugs and “boom, dead”

You’d be a fricking idiot to be doing any street drugs these days. No sympathy here.

Alcohol is less addicting than narcotics, though. Not the same as narcotics.
Alcohol is less addictive than narcotics, absolutely. Studies show that clearly

However, studies also show alcohol has a far more negative outcome on others than the user than narcotics.

I'm not sure I value the opinion of someone regarding illegal drugs if he doesn't know the diference between "effect" and "affect."

The logical question is why does the government decide what drugs are legal and what aren’t therefore becoming “street drugs”? Especially when you consider one of the most addictive drugs and dangerous drugs to others is legal

The problem is that would only work if it wasn't a drain and burden on society.

Problem is is this isn't why that stuff is illegal.

Its illegal because our government makes A LOT of money off of illegal drugs. And they make sure that drugs are being pumped into this country because its their golden goose.

and all of these fricking tough guys in here would change their tune if their son or daughter was out partying one night and did a little bump of coke that had fent in it, and OD'd and died. Bet they would wish that their child had access to a narcan injection then.

Prohibition showed making alcohol illegal only caused greater issues

Yet, here we are doing the same damn thing chasing the exact same issues due to hypocrisy and moral platitudes once again. It’s quite amazing to me

I think those studies need to be reconsidered and look at San Fran. San Fran is a clear case study that decriminalizing the use of narcotics is a drain on society way worse than alcohol.

Naw, that's NOT a logical question. It's a question only an idiot would think is logical.

Yeah. Not falling for that again. My wife (works in healthcare) was given some Narcan at some sort of work event and put them in our glove boxes so we could be good samaritans, I guess. I got pulled over a few weeks ago and when I opened the glove box to get my info the cop saw it and used it as an excuse to spend 45 minutes searching my car. Pulled over for having an air freshener hanging from my rear view mirror (apparently illegal in AZ) and ended sitting on the side of the highway with three patrol cars like I was a drug smuggler.

With logic, tell me why alcohol should be legal and cocaine illegal.

Libertarians are a bit like socialists in that they think in absolutes.

They think that if everything was deregulated society would magically make the right decisions and no one would be a burden to others because we would be in this free utopia.

Like I said, I am not going to make a passionate plea because I don't do either one but which one of those two do you think is easier to die from?

You have to drink a shitload of alcohol to get alcohol poisoning and die hence why it is pretty rare.

How much blow do you have to do to check out?

I think you are comparing apples and oranges here.

Will NYC be giving immunity to any “good samaritans” who give someone a Narcan shot based on the belief the person is ODing?

If that isn’t right at the top of the list, they can frick right off.

I googled it and the answer is about 6.5 grams for a 150-pound person. Seems easier to do that in rapid succession than it is to get alcohol poisoning but I have never touched the stuff so my ignorance is genuine here.
