In the past, went to L’auberge for NYE and it was a good time. Other downtown ideas are Tsunami or the Hilton for parties/fireworks

In recent years, we pop fireworks with the kids and have some drinks at home

We are doing ours on Saturday evening. Wife has to work NYE & NYD. Plan on going to Superior on Govt, a casino to blow $100, bar hop Mid-City, then finish with a drink at The Brakes (weirdly cozy bar behind Spokes) for a night cap.

Board games with our son, have a few drinks and a grape juice toast at midnight followed shortly by going to bed.

Going out drinking on NYE is for amateurs. Stay home, cook some steaks and have fun with the wife. That's my plan.

Funny story. A few years back SO and I went to the Hilton on NYE. We walked into the party area and it was all well-to-do African Americans dressed in tuxedos and sequin ball gowns. We were not dressed nearly nice enough, so we went to the local bars instead.

Travel to the border and welcome all the illegals Biden's allowing in.

Go to the older folks bars if you need to go out. Nothing worse than being around folks that are just a couple of years shy from saying "you are like my dad" on NYE. Don't go into a new year hearing that line.

We always have a block party. Everyone puts in a 100 bucks are so for fireworks. I am smoking a turkey and my brother in law is cooking a brisket. We will have a live band this year. It is usually a good time and no one has to drive anywhere. The entire street is partying with us so we never have to worry about the cops being called. I live next door to my parents and my brother and two sisters live down the street. We have been doing this as long as I can remember. I've watched a many sunrises new years day from my parent's driveway.

Getting in my bed around 9 and watching old British comedy and MST3K.

I don't drink or party anymore so there's really nothing going for me

I'm a good bit past 40-ish these days, but I'm thinking about heading over to the 'Possum Drop in Tallapoosa, GA this year.
